if someone asked me "when you think of mtv and synths, what's the first thing that comes to mind?"

JP6
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

knowing the stuff Cherry is making im 99 positive it will be Jupiter 8. Also the shape of keyboard resambles it. To people saying its Andromeda - it will not, just look at the left side of the keyboard, in the video its much wider. Also Andromeda wasnt as used and popular as other synths.

It's rare, and follows their 2-in-1 line.
There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

OK, but how does that relate to the video (very clear Duran Duran-themed track, a band linked with the JP8), and the 41H clue (the MIDI manufacturer byte for Roland), and the shape of the synth in the video (which looks like a JP8)..?

Or maybe you think the clues are *all* just red herrings?

The shape is there. And now I see the description on Youtube with th 41H hint.
So you're probably right.
How boring.

TAL and Arturia have the Jupiter-8 covered, so if that's what their peddling -- Yawn.

Jupiter 6, afaik, has yet to be emulated (!?!) -- would be a far more interesting option...

but all signs point to the boring decision of the JP8.

Post

Well, the shape is also consistent with the Jupiter-6. The sound in the video is also more JP-6ish in nature. The MTV thing is throwing things off.

they may red herrings. its the 1983 release year 40 years ago. both dx1 and j6 were from 1983. looks like j6 so far accordi8ng ALL facts. but i would by far prefer a dx7/dx1 package rahter than a j6/j8. if both are even possible under one modernized gui

Apart from the Duran Duran style track, with the JP8 arpeggiator part - the JP8 being heavily associated with DD, especially because of Save A Prayer. The JP6 has no particular association with DD.

(The JP4 also has a DD association - Hungry Like The Wolf - but they've already done the '4.)

Of course, the DD thing could be red herring too. But I agree, as previously said, I think it's the JP8, but could be (and would be better imo) if it was a JP6. At least the JP6 *came* with MIDI, giving 41H clue a double-meaning.

Look into OPS7, which is a dual-layer, bit-accurate DX7, so can do all those dual-layer DX1/DX5 sounds perfectly well.

Ok, I'll bite

It'll be a combination of Jupiter 6 and Jupiter 8.

..I really have no idea what it''ll be..I'll show myself out..

I doubt that Cherry would do the DX7, as that's a digital synth, and they are all about analog...
Windows 10 and too many plugins

DX7 because that was used in Money for Nothing.
If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.
