the 458 flattens the f**k out of kicks, totally, it is kinda pillowy. Kinda flattens them out and opens them up. whereas the TWK retains some punch after the flattening. ha, flattening. glad i crack myself up there, even if nobody else knows what the f**k i'm talking about.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2023 2:42 pmYeah, 458a is good too. I like in particular what it does on kicks. There's a bit of softening of the attack or something that makes the kicks sound a bit "pillowy." When I need that, it's a great thing.legendCNCD wrote: Sun Aug 20, 2023 2:07 pm Blyss, Omega TWK & 458a - I dont think they'll ever leave our tunes.
I think they all deserve exploring. Even just on kick drums

TWK is my favorite "one knob" saturator, but I often replace it with something else later on.sqigls wrote: Tue Sep 05, 2023 9:05 amthe 458 flattens the f**k out of kicks, totally, it is kinda pillowy. I've deleted 458 and N, but also REDDI and AR-1 through disuse - just Novatron, Blyss, and TWK remain installed as far as the Kush plugins I have go.

It really is. And I'm ultra cynical about the claims of such things. It just makes everything sound better (only downside is it's easy to over-use.
Public beta seems to be working perfectly on the M2 btw.

Anyone have insight using AR-1 vs Audio Acoustica’s Cream 2? I just installed Cream 2 (got it free a while back). I’ve watched a few comparisons and Cream 2 sounds great, but I’m curious if I’m missing something with AR-1.
I’m likely going to sub later this week to get a better feel, then hopefully pick up what I use when they go on sale.

The Kush sub is awesome. The compression action of AR-1 is much better than the comps of older AA plugs such as Cream. That may change if Cream gets updated but when or if that happens is anyone's guess.elxsound wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 4:20 am Anyone have insight using AR-1 vs Audio Acoustica’s Cream 2? Just subbed. This will give me some time to compare things. I'll compare it against Cream 2 once I get acquainted with what I should get from an Altec 436b/EMI RS124TBlake wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 4:37 amThe Kush sub is awesome. I’ve since replaced Novatron with Pawn Shop Compressor 2. I think Korneff might out-analog Kush.

Anyone interested in Kush should totally do these :
- subscribe to Kush owner Greg's YT channel where he demystifies music production in the most unique way
- check out his personal music Sneaky Little Devil, superb delicious production :
I feel a brotherly love for Greg, really, his guidance is near spiritual, his music has this cool vibe, very inspiring.
I'm still to buy some of his plugins, I wish he makes videos showing how he uses them to produce his tracks

I've been on subscription for a while so I haven't checked the prices for quite some time. Right now, novatron or ubk1 go for 59 bucks, which iirc is way cheaper than they used to be.
Does anyone know if these are still bf sale prices or are they new standard prices?
