From sb who has absolutely no knowledge in coding audio plugins, can’t it be with a lookahead function? Or when the new signal triggers you can fade it out and at the same time it’s ducking the whole signal to a %. Don’t know if it makes sense but thought this might work. At least for playback.

Just brainstorming, but maybe some kind of round robin mechanic may do the trick. I think the issue is that you can't wait with buffer reset after the trigger has happened because then it will interfere with the new tail, but if you do the reset immediately, no one will produce the sound for the fade out.
However if you had two audio paths that you mix together, you could fade out path1 while path2 produces the new tail and vice versa. That would probably double cpu time (at least during the fade time) but it should theoretically be latency free (?)

I'm happy to say that Silencer 1.1 adds a new mode that hosts AU instead of VST3.
Change log
FIXED: GUI issue introduced by macOS Sonoma that occurs with certain reverbs on certain DAWs (including Live 12 and Logic).
ADDED: Logic users can now host AU plugins inside Silencer by enabling AU Host Mode! Only use this if you never install VSTs and therefore haven't been able to use Silencer at all.
If you enable this mode:
- “Show reverbs only” will be unavailable when selecting plugins.
- Only the AU version of Silencer is affected; the VST3 and AAX versions of Silencer will still host VST3.
- Silencer will still open existing sessions where it hosted VST3s, while remaining in AU Mode.
- You can enable it in the Plugin Manager dropdown, where you scan plugins.

I've noticed that the plugin scanning window disappears in Studio One when loading another plugin on a different channel during the plugin scan. The plugin scan service remains running in the background, however, it's difficult to know the how the scan is progressing.

Kinda neat. Seems like something that could be done with plogue bidule or a flexible host.

To clarify, there is no other way to automatically retrigger your favorite reverbs based on incoming audio, MIDI or automation. Silencer is unique.

I haven't demoed it, but I can imagine a few ways to achieve "reverb/ effect per note" in Plogue Bidule and in bitwig. Maybe not with the same method you're using and probably also a pain in the ass to setup. It's not something I find myself needing often in my work. Best of luck with your product. Lots of the demo audio sounded cool.widebluesound wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2024 8:16 pmI appreciate your interest.Ah_Dziz wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2024 8:09 pm Kinda neat. We don't. That's probably caused by whatever plugin was being scanned at the time.

was insomnia brained - clicked deny and it scanned everything just fine - for sure a different 3rd party vst.
also shoutout to the plugin uninstaller u make that's such a clutch tool makes me so much less weary to try out some free plugins that I may want to delete if they suck.

Hi Nathan, I just tested out the demo (1.1) in Bitwig - although the trigger light flashes on every key press only every alternate note has reverb (Valhalla Vintage Verb)

I tested it just now and it works for me, so let me know your OS/if you're on Apple Silicon, and make sure you've updated Bitwig and Valhalla Vintage Verb.ollie.rollover wrote: Fri May 30, 2025 10:10 am Hi Nathan, I just tested out the demo (1.1) in Bitwig - although the trigger light flashes on every key press only every alternate note has reverb (Valhalla Vintage Verb)
