Yesterday drinking morning coffee with Cameron(i'm joking:)hit me that maybe look into wrong direction, algorithmic reverb is artificial reverb after all.
Then i start to check convolution reverb and it seems there isn''t so many great choices as algorithmic ones.
Melda MconvolutionMB seems very capable and if there is 50% off will be immediately buy.
I think that was i missed so far, cause i use only algorithmic ones, build in or external, but always algorithmic.
Will focus on combination of algorithmic and convolution to see what happened.
So many good stuff available at affordable prices, plus upcoming discounts probably will buy few.
Cheers :)

I'm normally happy with the stock reverbs in my host, but I tend to use them very sparingly. Valhalla stuff is very good too, free and paid, and the new Solaris shimmer verb from adamtrance is pretty cool too.
How original

convolution reverbs are very static and resonant sometimes, they are good for sound design to make stuff sound different but as a main reverb me not likin :?
aliasing plugin owner

Also liking convolution more for sound mangling, especially when using more uncommon sounds for the impulse response.

I think Nimbus is the "big" version of Phoenixverb, no? If so, it's excellent. I tended to use Phoenix for all my "natural room" sounds, and I had R4 as well. Still have both, but I stopped using them when #$@% Izotope didn't keep them updated for Mac Oses--though I think they eventually got around to it. Left a pretty bad taste in my mouth and while those were down I bought Tai Chi Lite from Liquidsonics to take the place mostly of R4 (kind of a general "Lexicon-ish" algo verb). I really like Tai chi lite and may look to get the big version next.

Other than the OS thing, my biggest beef with the Exponential verbs is that I didn't care for the interface. End of the day, I think a lot of these tools are similar and excellent in how they sound (watch the Spitfire blind test of a bunch of them on youtube, kind of eye-opening), so it may boil down to which one is easier and more pleasing to use. Obviously some have a few more features than others built-in (modulation, ducking, what have you).

I have Chromaverb and Space Designer in Logic and they seem pretty good to me, though it doesn't stop me from looking :D

Don't forget about Valhalla Supermassive as well, which is really cool and is (was at least) completely free. I use it quite a bit.

This thread has reminded me to start checking out Raum more--I got it with Komplete and need to see what it can do. Also the Lexicon emulations even though they are pretty ancient for plugins.

Yes, Nimbus is like the bigger Phoenixverb. That move by iZotope was unreal to be honest, especially when you also loved Excalibur. They totally lost me when they also abandoned Iris 2 and Trash 2.

I would say that Tai Chi is a good substitute for R4 and a good overall choice. Also heard a lot of praises for the new Arturia Rev LX-24, while not so many for the (older) NI ones.

So easy sweet sound for like 30-40secs.
By the way combination of vintage verb and nimbus is excellent, somehow complete each other.
Willing to trade R2 or R4 for something else,if somebody is interested :)
Cheers:)
VVV seems like a very divisive verb. Some people, myself included, really love it. Others think it's too muddy.

I use it all the time as a "verb I want to hear". That's where it shines IMO.
Im in the muddy camp. Better ones for the money to my ears, but they probably aren’t as popular per the OP.

Sonsig is currently $50 on sale and is hugely better (to me).

Sonsig is great but it's not as deep as VVV IMO. Which can also be a strength (1 algorithm vs like 20).

That said, one person's "muddy" is another person's "warm".

I owned both VVV and VRoom. For me, they do what they do with extra cheese and double cream, which I find a bit exaggerated sounding. VVV is ultra chorus-y, artifact-y, and "dirty", VRoom is extremely clean, almost sterile sounding. They could be more subtle, and, I also had a hard time perceiving them as "pristine", or high end sounding.

I simply found other reverbs much better sounding for my uses, that's why I couldn't understand the hype the plugins get here. There are free options (NI Raum) which sound better than them IMO.

To each his own. YMMV. Just my 2c. Etc.

That's the thing with Sonsig, it's nice, but since Tai Chi does similar things but has way more control over early/late, dynamics, etc., I've not ended up keeping Sonsig in a single project. But that quite frequently goes for VVV also, it gets replaced with Tai Chi. I've tended to use VVV for the nonlinear mode and the dirty plate, which I like for percussion. I suppose I might be better served by Valhalla Plate, but I don't own it and have done pretty well with other options so far.

Actually Sonsig is rather ten algos in two main categories (QRS and 224)...

btw.: when was the last time you tried V³? Imo the newer algos are vastly better than the older ones and I have a feeling that when people speak about not liking V³, they often talk about the old plugin from years ago.

I have Tai Chi Lite and was at first blown away, but I since didn't really manage to successfully use it in a mix - I assume that's due to the sheer number of parameters and vs its very limited number of presets - I must admit that I totally struggle to master the thing - it makes V³ look overly simple in comparison.

Sonsig on the other hand I tend to dial in like 30s or a minute, am satisfied, move on (and perhaps later on adjust it for another half a minute or so). It's sooo easy to set up.

I got hooked on the full version of Tai Chi, I suppose because you can start with near default values, and as a mix progresses you can tweak the settings further. You can bring elements closer or further with the early reflections, remove some clutter with the dynamics control, ramp up the chorusing to glue extra body to a sound, or thin out the reverb to provide more of an ambience. Very versatile.

Could well be. I owned it 6 years ago, or something. Edit: Ha, even found the PM i sent to the buyer. I sold it in early 2016. ;) So, more than 7 years ago.

How many new algos are there, though?

Call me old-school but I quite like working with EOS 2 from Audio Damage. Wonder if anyone here is using it as well..?
