I can use VSTs in the host the RRP is running in anyway, so that's kinda pointless? A VST host inside a VST host?
If it wouldn't be a modular playground with CVs/Players, free routing capabilities and combinators, then yes, it would be pointless. Just like VCV, Mulab/MUX or Blue Cat Patchwork.

Most of it's features can be achieved in some hosts, but Reason patches are portable and provide an encapsulated environment.

To give you an example: I'm using it for drums with effects and modulations per voice/sample and the whole multi channel/device configuration is nicely contained in one instrument from the host's point of view. It doesn't take up many mixer or arrange tracks, also I can save it easily in one patch. But if I wanted to use a VST compressor or reverb on one of the drum samples, then the whole box metaphor breaks down, have to route that sound to another output, process in the host, route back, etc.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for this, but maybe it's going to happen at some point. Audio tracks, or Reason as a plugin seemed very unlikely until they didn't.

Synthbuilder wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:05 am I'd like the ability to set the RRP to a multiple of the DAW's clock frequency for oversampling like you can with Reaktor. A lot of Reason synths alias quite badly and running them faster would help reduce this.
Nice. Now try it with realism in mind
Reaper can do it already but I'd like to be able to do in the RRP so I can oversample in any DAW.

Again, realistically speaking Propellerheads ain't ever gonna do that.
Just like my wishful thinking of them just flicking a switch on in order for the build in sampler that's already there to work.

I would just like the sequencer to look different - more modern, minimal? I have no idea but more like the OG V1 sequencer. That was so simple and easy to use and so well integrated.

The current one just looks and feels old - like a homebrew project from the early 2010s.

The biggest thing would be to cut the dead space - the random bars that suck up screen space and do nothing.

Iconification of buttons like the mixer, sequencer, flip rack etc. buttons.
The ridiculous wasted space to the right of the sequencer buttons - some are icons, some are words.
The fluidity of it all - the playhead jerks along on my M2 MacBook Pro but it has always ben jerky on everything I have ever used Reason on.

Funnily I like the floating browser and really disliked the docked one - just felt amateurish and clunky to use.

What feels amateurish (to me) is this new browser standing in the way of the main instruments and effects window every time you just want to navigate through presets and change some parameters to the instruments or FX on the fly.
It's a real pita and has killed most of my worflow in Reason so far…

A lot of good ideas but Ithink they will drop a couple new devices and some minor tweaks to the browser. They do not care about user requests, please realize it. It's their style and management "strategy".

You can close threads like this, they won't listen.

A Rebirth-338 Rack Extension, that can open (my old) RBS files.

No, seriously, that would be amazing.

Can I select multiple midi tracks and record at the same time? No? Still baffled that it requires a combinator to do this simple thing.

Love reason since 2.5, but these little things make me not want to use it as a daw/scratchpad. Great effects though.

A really nice saturation built into the mixer, per channel etc etc
A player like 'playbeat' that 'remixes' your beats slightly each bar (or whatever you set)
smootherr zoom and navigation options in the MIDI sequencer

yep I'm probably p***ing in the wind with all of these ha

Or how about progressive discounts for those of us who have been supporting Reason/Record/ReCycle way back to the OG Propellerheads crew...

There are several things that are 'nice to have'. However, the only real problem for me that I would like to see addressed, is the fact that the metronome and the sample preview are hard-linked to the first stereo out of the audio interface. When using other outputs for monitoring, you lose the metronome and the preview.

My current workaround is to use a metronome RE (but that won't give pre-count), and an external sample-browser to preview those.
