There are always options.stoopicus wrote: Sun Oct 20, 2024 11:33 pm I also don't have the option of room treatment (my music area is in a room with a dresser with full glass faced front - the mother of all terrible room acoustics).

The Lewitt LCT 240 Pro is a really great mic and can be had for peanuts. It can be used on basically anything.

I have recorded with the AKG Perception 220 around $150 new and the AKG Perception 420 around $199 new. Great results with both mics on vocals, drum overheads and many percussion instruments. I have not used the Lewitt LCT 240 Pro mentioned above but the specs and reviews look good on that one too.

As far as I can tell, it's a good "all-arounder." It won't wow you in any special way necessarily, but it won't let you down either; a good, solid mic and good bang for the buck.
