So, if i already had an interface and didn't want to purchase a presonus one, could i still get artist for free or would i have had to pay for it?CapnLockheed wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 6:16 pmAnd that's just your opinion. Not the actual facts.
If you don't see the value in, need or want the FREE software you can always buy the unit used and save that imagined "extra cost". As I said, I worked for Presonus. The FREE software was not included to add "extra cost" to the hardware. The whole point of including the FREE software was to introduce new users to Studio One and, hopefully, convince them to spend MORE money in order to upgrade to higher tiers of the program.

A full perpetual site license of Studio One 7 Pro costs $50 USD:

I wonder if it includes the one full year of product updates?

Perhaps not just for educational institutions.

From the site:summer2000 wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 5:53 pm Best Service appears to have the best pricing I've been able to find so far for S1 7 perpetual license, upgrade, crossgrade, as well as Studio One Pro 7 with 12M Pro+. I'm still on the fence whether to sit this one out for a bit or go with S1 7 with 12M Pro+. Nuendo 13 is my primary DAW and I also mess around with Live 12 and Bitwig once in a while.

*** At this low price I'm seriously thinking about picking up S1 7 with 12M Pro+ and just hold off from registering the license with Presonus until I'm ready to spend some serious time to play around with it.
Total amount
Order value excl. VAT
$ 124.22
Shipping costs (UK)
free
+ VAT
$ 23.60
Total amount incl. VAT
$ 147.82
In the UK with VAT added it's £112 for a regular customer (I.E not running a business)
So, is that really much of a saving from buying from Presonus directly?
Humm...
Logging into the Presonus site states £134.99...
So a saving of 23 quid.
I'm on 4.6 Pro atm, I'm wiggling on the fence about that.

Hmm I did not see anything regarding VAT fees for software. If that's the case I can hold off until it goes on sale.

If purchased from Best Service for 124.22 USD the cost is approximately 95.07 GBP or 113.58 EUR. Would it be worthwhile to have somebody in the States purchase the perpetual license keys from BestService for folks in the UK and then get reimbursed by them via PayPal? How much extra does PayPal charge to convert/exchange the currency?THE INTRANCER wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 9:53 pmFrom the site:summer2000 wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 5:53 pm Best Service appears to have the best pricing I've been able to find so far for S1 7 perpetual license, upgrade, crossgrade, as well as Studio One Pro 7 with 12M Pro+. More than they used to, I'd say somewhere around 4%. Unless you do the transaction in your native currency, in which case it is free. i.e. They make money on their exchange rate, they don't actually charge a fee.

If you are paying by credit card on Paypal, there is an option to have the conversion done by your credit card company instead of Paypal itself. Some credit cards do transactions in foreign currencies without conversion fees. Of course, you are bound by the rate they offer but it may be more competitive than Paypal's.

How can you buy something that's been discontinued??Kypresso wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 6:31 pmSo, if i already had an interface and didn't want to purchase a presonus one, could i still get artist for free or would i have had to pay for it?CapnLockheed wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 6:16 pmAnd that's just your opinion. Perhaps you should have read the fine print. That ad you posted from B&H is a license limited to just ONE machine. If you want to install it on more than just ONE machine you need to purchase the UNLIMITED site license. That costs just a wee bit more.........tonedef71 wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 7:00 pm A full perpetual site license of Studio One 7 Pro costs $50 USD:

Most folks just want to purchase a single license to install the DAW software on their one DAW machine.
