Well I could have told you it was on keys without looking.
Studio Drummer has to be one of the least expressive to my ears, I own it too.

As for potential, I think that's my point, the limitation of 2 hands/sticks and 2 feet are what helps with realism.

The Drumkat's are cool too in the smaller format, I still prefer the Trapkat. Had both over the years, still have a modern Trapkat XL as my main controller.

If you get a chance to try one out, by all means.

Another finger drumming option worth looking at, check out the Zendrum. https://www.zendrum.com/

i figured you would say that...its interesting...I wonder outside of people who have actually played drums how many people can recognize performance that are outside the normal limb techniques?...and whether it annoys them or they have a preference

and yeah...he sounds much better on the soniccouture kits cause they are pretty forensically sampled

its funny, I had a dream about an edm band that all had digital display character helmets like deadmau5 and the drummer was playing a kit on his body so he could dance and work the stage...when i woke up I wondered why I hadn't seen one of those yet...but that zendrum is in the same vein...you can play drums while performing like a guitarist...first the keytar now zendrum...brilliant!

oh and looks like the entry level drumkat has been discontinued...shame
Music had a one night stand with sound design.....And the condom broke

I still use it in Reaper W10. I expect no updates but it is quite stable and quite unique. I usually run the midi out to Battery or Microtonic. I consider it a finished tool as in if i had bought a drum set, drill, or whatever and never upgraded. I don't regret buying it for a minute. JS can do some really awesome things. It is abandonware and i'm sure my experience would be much less positive if i were using a mac, but then, that is one of my reasons to not. YMMV
