What I really like about Solaris is the Semitone knobs. If you get those just right...

For Shimmer reverb, I just use Valhalla- perfect sounding, easy to use if just for the high frequency sizzle.
Beyond that, the aforementioned Blackhole and Blackhole Immersive. I actually prefer the original although Immersive sounds much cleaner.
Raum is also a really nice one

Since many recommended Butterfly effect I went to have a look, it does sound nice, but $149, ouch !
For those with tighter budgets, you can create similar results for free by combining the free Skynet reverb for long tails and the free Solaris for shimmer. If you use the free Waves StudioRack you can also create your own multiband uber reverbs/delays chains.

For me celestial means just huges spaces where a sound will just ring out beautifully.
I think 2C Audio Breeze is the best for large spaces. It's just so clean and smooth.
Raum from NI does well, as does the reaktor ensemble Spacemaster.
Obvs Supermassive is worth trying, some very different verb types in there. I would love a paid version with more featured controls, especially width and stereo type things.
Black hole is pretty good, but it's also pretty grainy.
There are plenty of other things to try like eqing and compressing the reverb sound, or. Feeding a reverb into a reverb.

This is a good free/donationware option (Windows), don't forget to EQ the highs in the verb return for what you desire. EQing reverb is quite important at times, if you are looking for specific "effects" to produce the sound you are after.

Do not forgot your DAW stock EQ, some of those can be quite silvery and obvious, in a good way.
Grainy?.. Kind of lower mid thick wash of unsmooth digital quantized 350-700Hz kinda thing I guess.

I agree with you. Often standard solutions have excellent solutions in the form of standard plugin sets.Synthman2000 wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 11:19 am Do not forgot your DAW stock EQ, some of those can be quite silvery and obvious, in a good way.

Any hall reverb that exists ?
With 5-10 second decay, HPF at 1kHz, high shelf boost at 4kHz, bell boost Q 0.5 at 11kHz.

The NI Raum Cosmic algorithm sounds amazing, if you put a "regular" reverb afterwards. Also the Softube/MI Clouds is great, but it's only available as a Softube Modular module.

With a bit of tuning this one can be pretty epic: viewtopic.php?t=615243

Spacer pretty cool too.
I tried the epic Greverb, nice too. Though I really prefer the sound of the free Skynet, simple and super effective.
