It's quick and easy to use, and I think the cpu use is also pretty low. I could be wrong but I think if I try recreate it on vintagewarmer 2, I would have to compensate the treble or something, that's one reason I think this one is easier to use.dblock wrote: Fri Feb 14, 2025 5:19 pm Like most things I think it's less than the sum of it's marketing push. Not really better than similar plugins as much as it may do the same thing differently with a slightly different flavor. Definitely doesn't require any kind of "deep dive."
Fabfilter Saturn (2) would probably be the plugin I would use to try recreate this (with the added benefit of letting you choose which area/band to color, letting you leave areas of highs and lows untouched/clean), but it's not as straightforward and cpu use might be slightly higher.
The way I see it, this plugin is easy, quick and low on cpu.

It's not an emulation. It's using the original code from the hardware so you're getting an exact copy in plugin form along with an updated model option. I'd say even though it's decades old, it blows the majority of tape emulations out of the water, even one that were released last year. The only one that are more accurate for tape emulation are IK and UAD, but with this you can drive much further without getting very apparent distortion.
