Mine didn't automatically do that, but I noticed there is a setting for it, go to Settings > Activation Location > Manage. This setting had changed to my machine by default and I had to switch it back to my iLok. I would assume this applies to new activations and there would be no reason for it to reactivate existing plugins…aMUSEd wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 11:55 pm wtf UA Connect has just decided to move the activations from my iLok to my computer! There was no option to keep them on my ilok which I would have much preferred
UA native plugins can now be used offline

Mine didnt do anything at all heh. I opened UA Connect twice before it finally updated itself yesterday, but not a word about the new license options at all. I fired up Cubase right after and just got to work, everything is still on the iLok key here.

Why would your dongle be affected?
You should be able to manually move your licences to your machine though.

Eh I didnt bother opening the iLok Manager to see, cause I don't want them leaving the key. I was just glad that I didn't open UA Connect and have it automatically move my licenses to Machine Authorization like it did to a few other random folks.

You now get 3 authorizations per license, which you can move back and forth between any local machine or iLok dongle. iLok Cloud licenses were converted to local machine licenses by UA Connect. iLok dongle licenses are unaffected. Even if it moved an iLok dongle license to a local machine or deactivated it, you could just move it back in the iLok License Manager. There is no risk to you iLok dongle licenses.

Is this your only Polymax license?muki wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 10:47 pm i just opened the ilok manager:
polymax still is not offline usable - cloud or usb only (as far as i can see)...
Did you run the conversion in UA Connect first?
If you did already, deactivate Polymax in the iLok License Manager. It will get converted as soon as you do and you will be able to activate it on your local machine. If it is inactive, it won’t be automatically converted until you activate it. You can deactivate it again afterwards. I have 3 Polymax licenses, so that's what I did to convert the extras.

These were licences being moved from the previous Cloud-location to the new machine authorization.mothra wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 9:29 pm I was just glad that I didn't open UA Connect and have it automatically move my licenses to Machine Authorization like it did to a few other random folks.
But again: why would your dongle be affected? (As it is unrelated to what has been changed.)

I couldn't care less about the requirement for iLok. What I DO care about is this requirement for my UADx plugin licenses to be held in the cloud and have to be switched back and forth every time I go from my laptop to my desktop. So, this is a godsend, FINALLY! The only reason I still hate ILok, even after this move, is the $25 per license transfer fee that charge. I''ve purchased some instruments from UVI, which were then included in a bundle that I bought later on. So, I wanted to transfer the earlier licenses to my kid, who also makes music, but it would cost me over $100 to do that, and that is complete BULLSHIT!

yes
no
thanks for the info
i'll give it a try
p.s.:
yes + no:
doesn't work...in mojave, because:
upon launch, UAconnect wants to update itself without asking
resulting in a version, that does not run anymore
gotta retrieve the old, working version from an update and lock it
does not update the license
well: waiting for a new mac with newer OS i guess...

You may be able to do it manually just in the iLok License Manager by deactivating the license then reactivating it.muki wrote: Fri Mar 28, 2025 6:48 pm doesn't work...in mojave, because:

That makes sense! I didn't have any licenses in the cloud since I got tired of opening ILM every time I switched between PC and MBP, so I just have two dongles. Nothing really changed for me but I guess it's good that folks who won't use dongles can enjoy these great plugins.jamcat wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 10:18 pm iLok Cloud licenses were converted to local machine licenses by UA Connect. iLok dongle licenses are unaffected.

of which i've neither had
and still: it only offers dongle or cloud (an no machine)
well...
