Hmm, well their support system is not giving me a lot of confidence, there are no articles and it forbid me from submitting a ticket. Will try PA I guess, I just wanted to give them a heads up about the issues with my temporary computer setup...

*Studio One actually disables this plugin for me, citing that it returns invalid data, this could
be an audio driver compatibility issue, so I wanted to let them know is all...

Having spent a little time with this now, I see it becoming one of my top FX. It has great presets as starting points, and such a good workflow to take it in many different directions. But that's just on top of the overall sound, which I think is top-notch. I hadn't tried any of the plugins it's being compared to, and it sounds like I probably should have, but I'm very pleased with Utopia. Having owned a couple of other ADPTR plugins, the $50 intro price made it an easy decision.

the $50 intro price made it an easy decision.
It is $69.99 on the PA site and the same on their own website, minus 10% if you sign up for their newsletter. Is it available cheaper anywhere else?
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's obviously worth to have some ADPTR AUDIO in your plugin folder...

It is currently 10% off, so I'm wondering if it’s worth picking up or if I should try Utopia instead.
I’m mostly interested in unnatural, interesting reverb textures.
Tal G verb is one of my favourite plugins. It's insanely capable. Basically a granular processor and delay into an FDN reverb or vice versa.

It's exceptionally good for granular cloud stuff. The grain pitch sequencer is really useful and from a granular standpoint it's really easy to understand. The FDN reverb is very deep and a bit too cryptic for me. But very powerful. You can go from lush to metallic by adjusting a few parameters.

Utopia is more like Adaptiverb where it's a more traditional reverb but with more control over the spectral content. You can definitely go really weird by adjusting the spectral blocks size and the ability to eq the decay of different frequencies. (I would love to see a bit more tweakability around the spectral end of Utopia)

There's obviously going to be some overlap but ultimately they are pretty distinct from one another.

I think that G verb is more tweakable and is effectively two plugins in one but can be a bit cryptic when it comes to the FDN.

Whereas Utopia is more accessible and quicker to dial in but as a result a bit less deep in terms of getting to the basic building components.

Both are very capable of producing some really otherwordly and ethereal results.

Both are fantastic.
Thanks for your review! I bought TAL G-Verb and after 2 days of extensive testing I am more than happy with it.
For my needs (heavily experimental), G-Verb feels like it was almost tailor-made for my workflow. There’s something slightly raw and characterful about how it reacts, especially when pushed with more abrasive sources.

What stands out for me is how well it handles dense, unpredictable material without collapsing into mud. I can sculpt long, smeared decays that maintain a vivid texture, or dial it back for chaotic short bursts that still keep edge and definition and it’s incredibly responsive to modulation.

Another big plus is how it doesn't gloss over the imperfections in the sound. Instead, it seems to enhance "grit/noise" in a way that sounds intentional, not like a plugin struggling to keep up. For anyone working outside of traditional "clean mix" paradigms, it’s seriously inspiring.
It doesn´t just sound "processed", it interacts with the source material. So yeah, Utopia is off the table for me

Yeah G verb is an absolute Gem.

You're also right about not side stepping the grittier side. The sample/bit rate reduction parameters are there for a reason. You can take it in any number of directions.

Really good for rhythmic material too.

I think it's one of the most underrated plugins around.

I do think Utopia can go into eerier territory than G-verb. The spectral aspect makes it almost more destructive of the input (in a good way) and you end up with something that's more emergent.

As you say G verb deals with input material in a very euphonic/controlled way. You can definitely go weird with it but Utopia can really deviate from what you put into it.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either to anyone into sound design.

I picked this up yesterday. Quite a CPU heavy little plugin, but great sound and unique features.

So, i have this going:
Zebralette3 plays a sound, it´s 1:1 like an organ*. For my taste an awesome one in fact.
(* edit: ahh look, a preset: church in space)
i have a complex Filter morph -CC mapped to one Fader- going. LP-BP-HP, kind of. Way more complex. Well, it´s donne with EQing.

Now Utopia Reverb.
i have CineRoomPro, or Utopia, mix on a crossfader, chose.

if i blend the Reverb over to Utopia is my organ sound turning 1:1 into a ambient strings sound.
A quite interesting find.
And it shows so nicely how digital synth sound-synthesis works.
edit: ahh wait: Utopia is set to full wet ! but: that works out here. Very nice

vs. CPU load, (on my M4 mac):
if i BYPASS Utopia is my host (GP) showing me MORE CPU load, haha.
So, not sure, can´t confirm the high CPU load. In contrary,.......looks more like a CPU Savier, haha.
:hihi:
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Did not resist to grab today too (for 62 with "WELCOME10", although i lmost sure that it will be able to grab for 29 at PA at sales lol).
Regards cpu usage, well pretty ok\middle at my side, i did run thru some presets, it was no more than 6-9% (maybe need some certain setting idk)
After second quick spin, another time convinced definitely it gread texture maker, more than reverb.
But really it VERY lack of ability to save texture inside preset.
Hope dev does admits requests.
Also, would be good to add optional ability to have active input in Freezed state (it's not the same as infinity mode at max decay, although it good too).
By adaptivity also similar to Sonible SmartReverb (what has no such wide texturizing ability tho).

Anyone know where the factory presets folder is on the hard drive? (macOS)

Thanks but that's for user presets and currently empty till I make some. I want a list of factory presets so I can create NKS versions
