If Igloo has the same DNA as Abyss then i think i'll pass as i wasn't a fan. I doubt a macro'd version would make me a convert or cause me to develop the Pulsar Modular fervorP900 wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:07 pmBecause probably I am one of the very few who can quickly get the target sound in Abyss.TIMT wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 5:41 pm I thought Abyss is supposed to be the be all end all of compressors. You did claim multiple times that it can get in the ballpark of pretty much any other comp hardware or otherwise, so why the need for this plugin then?
Abyss was released Jan. 2023 and introduced unique circuits like Soul, PSI and O2.
Igloo has a much streamlined workflow with full and easy mode, and a more specific vibe. You need to try it!

Use a signal with sharp transient like a single snare hit.Igelhaft wrote: Sat Jun 07, 2025 1:46 am Is this a RMS compressor like P11 or something different? (I’ll take a peek if there are still slots available.)
See what the peak of that hit is. Say -15 dBFS.
Move the Threshold on the compressor to -20 dBFS ratio 10:1
Now check the GR needle. If the compressor is peak-based, the needle kicks in; if RMS, it will barely move.
Short answer: P19 IGLOO is a peak compressor, while P11 Abyss is an RMS compressor.

Admittedly, I’m a dirty plugin addict and a Pulsar Modular fan boi, but I have no incentive to post here other than my own genuine enthusiasm and appreciation for the early look. I own all the PM plugs and payed for all them. I haven’t received any special treatment but I wouldn’t mind it if I did.midi sentinel wrote: Sat Jun 07, 2025 3:49 pmhtothehza wrote: Sat Jun 07, 2025 3:45 pm Got a chance to play with it a bit last night and, as expected, it is a really nice tool.
