Oh, now I get it! Maybe “AISS” would have been a better / clearer acronym, but I understand it’s not funny…

I may have to demo this just for the KVR bragging rights of being the first to do so.

I think you’d be surprised how many people claim to be against AI in music production but still use it, they just don’t admit it here. Probably the same goes for piracy.billinder33 wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 1:12 pm I may have to demo this just for the KVR bragging rights of being the first to do so.

those who are pro machine creative assistance i'm sure could provide numerous scenarios for justifying the use (many are bound to be rationalizations, others may in fact hold water in a given context), but the inherent hack-ness of the basic idea is probably hard to escape, as it should bestarflakeprj wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 1:17 pmI think you’d be surprised how many people claim to be against AI in music production but still use it, they just don’t admit it here. The thousand monkeys are being replaced by AI. We won't have to wait a thousand years for the inevitable dreck, but there should be less screeching and feces slung about.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us. - Emerson

unless there's a data center location nearby, in which case the screeching and feces metaphor is very much turned up to 11Cuauhtli wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 3:22 pm The thousand monkeys are being replaced by AI. One of the key people from the Grammys in a recent interview said that AI was being used in almost every commercial project.starflakeprj wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 1:17 pmI think you’d be surprised how many people claim to be against AI in music production but still use it, they just don’t admit it here. As if the Grammys have been a measure of anything but mediocrity for a very long time.billinder33 wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 4:31 pmOne of the key people from the Grammys in a recent interview said that AI was being used in almost every commercial project.starflakeprj wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 1:17 pmI think you’d be surprised how many people claim to be against AI in music production but still use it, they just don’t admit it here. When I think of using AI, it kind of reminds me of those large people in the last section of Wall-e. They don’t do anything themselves, drinking big gulps, and just sit around all the time.

Then you're doing it wrong. If you are in information work of any sort and you haven't figured out by now how to use LLMs as a force multiplier then perhaps the lack of intelligence in AI isn't the correct diagnosis.Examigan wrote: Fri Nov 07, 2025 6:06 pm When I think of using AI, it kind of reminds me of those large people in the last section of Wall-e.
