output gain can be useful on sends too, for example if you compare different verbs with different output levels. But yeah it's mainly for inserts, which seems relevant here because this plugins big fat main knob is literally the mix control. If there really are users out there that are overwhelmed by the "complexity" of an output knob (spoiler: they don't exist) they will probably not use this plugin anyway. Too many knobs already.Dirk Diggler wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 2:48 pm For all the folks complaining about Output control.
Simply run SOL as an effects send, mix is set at 100% and use the return track DAW fader to control your volume. Extra bonus is you can even automate it then.

The more I experiment with this plugin the more impressed I am.
I was scrolling through presets and found the Microcosm preset, sure sounds very, very similar to my hardware Microcosm.
It also does the Eventide shimmer things really well.
Many thanks for creating this really clean useful gigantic verb/freezer.

I thought I had enough reverb plug-ins, but as soon as I tried SOL, I had something ready to release on Soundcloud
https://soundcloud.com/musicalentropy/dry-cold-january
I've been using it a lot since its release, very refreshing sound and set of features
