Is it a coincidence that it's also a gold coloured clipper?

I'm really digging the tanh on this plugin. Sometimes I'll find a sample (snares especially) that I like but even peaked it's too quiet in relation to everything around it. 35-60% on the tanh curve and BOOM! it just sits perfectly on the mix without compressing or hard clipping. I have other tools that can do this, but having this function inside a fully-featured clipper that snips the final peak output and gain adjusts within 1/100th of a db just makes so much sense.

Ruh roh. I love their products, so this is very worrisome.

Is this similar to Buzz Cut's 'erosion clipping'? What exactly is the processing behind this?

Well, the function adds colored noise to the signal, similar to dithering.

I spent some time with this earlier today. It's definitely a similar effect as Buzz Cut, with a slightly different end result.TB-ProAudio wrote: Tue Apr 07, 2026 11:26 amWell, the function adds colored noise to the signal, similar to dithering.
One thing I noticed was that the Color control is brighter at low settings and darker at higher settings, kind of the opposite of what I think most people would expect. Otherwise, very nice addition!
