What Is The Best Theremin VST?

that's pretty good tbh, maybe not perfect, but close enough only a seasoned theremin player might notice.
i can't put my finger on what could be improved, it is more the performance issue i think, as how we play does have an impact on what we play.
maybe if you had two xy pads and 2 mouses you could get better? as theremin is two handed after all.

but that's going a bit far, what you have definitely has the eerie quality

Thanks Vurt! It's certainly not perfect but I think it could get closer. If anyone owns Blue 3 I'd love for them to give it a go or maybe Zebra 2 might be a better choice. I picked Blue 3 because we can record the X-Y movement and then have it play back.

I still think it has to do with the pitch resolution. It either needs to be more precise or perhaps it's too precise. It's very hard to get right on the exact notes at least the way I have the patch set up now.

Here's what our friend A.I. has to say about playing the Theremin:

"It uses two antennas to generate electromagnetic fields: the right vertical antenna controls pitch (higher pitch closer), and the left loop antenna controls volume (louder further away), creating a haunting, ethereal sound.

So I think an X-Y pad with pitch on one axis and volume on the other with both properly set up could be able to get pretty close.

i don't have blue or id have a look.
i do own a theremin though, they're a bugger to play, so a vst is going to be a lot faster for anyone who hasn't played a theremin before!
