Bombadil wrote: Mon Mar 30, 2026 6:21 pm Thing is, it‘s fun when it‘s kept to double entendres. Explicit lyrics don‘t really go with the subject title.

„Gonna give you every inch o‘ my love!“ doesn‘t leave much to the imagination, or ‚my big 10 inch‘ or whatever it was.
Exactly, That's funny because I was going to post Big Ten Inch..
It's the size of an LP right?
12" for albums
10 inches were more rare, usually a maxi single or ep. probably a few albums too.

Prolly not applicable today, but never ask a record store clerk, 'How long is it?' when referring to 12 inch singles song length.

I don't use the words "dirty" and "filthy" with sex for "reasons'.
Songs that make allusions to sex are quite common ime. Seven songs per band in these comments alone. Add (quite) a few zeros to 7.
The people "not realizing" was so funny as a teenager especially hearing my mom or folks like that playing them on LP or listening in the car. :)

Half of the things people "didn't know" on these types of lists are so stupidly obvious. Nobody knew that "Please Go All The Way" was about sex? Really?

On the other hand, "Pearl Necklace" sounds like the type of thing some teenager would have submitted to Urban Dictionary if there had been such a thing back then. And it's not like you can really make out the rest of the lyrics to get context.

Then there's that one where they censored a few lines on the radio version, so it seems a bit unfair to say nobody got it.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.
