That would probably narrow down things quite a lot. Poly aftertouch AND hammer action? Nothing comes to mind really, but there must be a couple of variants on the market.rod_zero wrote: Thu Jun 25, 2026 7:06 amI am in the market for a controller right now and I am looking at:DrGonzo wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2026 2:32 am Just by curiosity, what are the features in ranked order that is most important to you when picking a controller? And if you have stuff you absolutely don't care one bit about throw that in as well.
When I pick a controller the most important things are
1. Keybed
2. Compact size
3. Aftertouch (old pressure aftertouch is fine).
What I absolutely don't care about
1. Mapping functionality for plugins
1. Keybed, but can't decide if I want hammer action (I had to sell my digital piano).
2. Poly aftertouch
3. Mod and pitch wheel/control
I also don't care much about automapping, I have had some controllers in the past with some kind of wrapper which sucks. I am.more confortable using Live and push for controlling parameter but a controller which shows the same banks with name and value seems useful (korg keystage).
Ideally I would love a controller with lots of knobs, for a long time I used a System8 but the Keybed was quite mediocre.
