They've never fixed the issue with Miroslav Orchestra where you have to install an old version because the new versions are missing a file (or something), then you can install the new version and it will work.
I use T-Racks, Amplitube, Tonex, MODO Bass & Drums. Haven't used Miroslav beyond demoing the cello sounds. The rest I haven't downloaded yet (acquired pretty much everything in the group buy).

Miroslav Orchestra is not much better than the old SONiVOX plugins anyway (o.k. a little better)Cuauhtli wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 2:09 am They've never fixed the issue with Miroslav Orchestra where you have to install an old version because the new versions are missing a file (or something), then you can install the new version and it will work.

If they actually gave a damn about their customers, this thread, (and the MANY others like it), would not have been necessary. An important message for IK Multimedia
Mostly, this thread has been been about problems with their software.
But support, (or rather lack of), of their hardware is, IMHO, the absolute
worst in the business. I don't know of ANY other company that makes and
sells audio interfaces and refuses to host the drivers on their site. They
also tend to completely drop both support and software compatibility
for their hardware very quickly. I don't think I've ever seen hardware with
shorter life cycles than their original Stomp I/O or Stealth Pedal. GONE
after just one update to Amplitube.
I made the mistake of buying an AXE I/O interface 2nd hand. I was amazed
to find out that IK did not host their own drivers. And when I begged them
for help....IK Support basically told me to go piss up a rope. Thankfully, some
kind soul shared the drivers with me and I was able to use the hardware I
paid for.
Never again.

They used to charge a transfer fee for hardware and without that, the new owner couldn't access firmware updates and possibly also drivers.CapnLockheed wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 5:44 pmIf they actually gave a damn about their customers, this thread, (and the MANY others like it), would not have been necessary. An important message for IK Multimedia

That says a lot about how they used to run the company and probably why there was so little good will towards them.
I wonder whether they had to run group buys because they were perceived as best avoided.

Even charging a transfer fee, (which sucks all by itself), very often sellers of used merch are pawnshop owners, (like the guy I bought my AXE I/O from), estate sale ghouls, or storage locker pirates and they have no idea who the original owner is. Which leaves you totally SOL.agharta wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 6:48 pmThey used to charge a transfer fee for hardware and without that, the new owner couldn't access firmware updates and possibly also drivers.CapnLockheed wrote: Tue May 26, 2026 5:44 pmIf they actually gave a damn about their customers, this thread, (and the MANY others like it), would not have been necessary. An important message for IK Multimedia

I think IK stuff sounds great but user experience is usually beyond horrible, especially for power users.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I've been using their stuff since the original Sampletank, currently on Max 2 or whatever it's called. Love Sampletank and Amplitube - use them on nearly everything. I remember complaining about the charge to download as CDN prices were starting to crash, and soon after they changed policy. I agree that the product manager is not great, and I don't like the tendency to hide the stuff you own amongst the stuff you don't own.

I just got a new PC and the installation was flawless their product manager works fine you just have to delete some stuff manually and I already had the sound content backed up so I just copied it over and pointed to it.
What I could do without is the rescanning of the whole content a plugin like Syntronik 2 does if you don't use it for a few months and boot it up again.

The library files for SampleTank are the same on Mac and Windows, and yet IK has separate sounds downloads for macOS and Windows in the User Area, instead of just having a single sounds download that includes both the macOS and Windows installer apps that would work for users of either system.
Just doing that would save IK terabytes of server bandwidth every month, and save dual-system users a bunch of time and HD space.
But this is the kind of thing that IK never thinks about.

I just ran IK'S Product Mangler to check for updates to any of the many products I own from them and got this when trying to install any update:
Umm yeah no, I'd rather french kiss a rattlesnake than contact IK "support".
I love the TRacks plugins and enjoy owning their other software but their product "manager" is one of the worst piles of steaming excrement I've ever run on any system going back a handful of decades.
