What's Your Trick For Creating Thick Lead Vocals?

Oh boy, this is the "anything goes" territory. Phasers, flangers, chorus...
Quite subtle is to double the track not sung but whispered.
Or do it Elvis style: add a backslap delay (40 to 120 ms)
Inverse: the telephone effect (cut below 200Hz and above 5000Hz, with some distortion)

The question is imho impossible to answer without examples of what you define as "thick vocals".

Almost any song where it's clearly audible that the lead singer isn't just singing by himself. Where you can hear that there is something going on either in the back if the vocal (depth) or at the sides of the vocal (width)

There was definitely all of that going on in the video that I posted. A lot of width at the sides. You should reach out to them.
