Thanks for the cool app.I can think of a lot of handy uses for both the wave and SF2 export. The addition of velocity layers will be a great.
One of my initial thoughts was that the SF2 export would be great for use in the new Sampler comp in Energy XT, but their seems to be a problem importing fonts created in Dumper.
When importing Sound fonts Energy opens the font and lists three categories,Presets,Instruments,Samples. The fonts created with Dumper appear to be empty? The same font will play correctly in other VSTs.
I was curious if these are additional layers of information that could be added to the fonts created by Dumper?
Thanks again

Hmm when i started to develop sf2 writer i wanted that the sf2 output were binary identical to sf2 files (with the same samples etc) generated by Vienna SF studio - and they was. So i dont know where can be the problem - i haven't Energy XT to make tests :/

Yep, I know what MRT means. In eXT, you don't just drag a soundfont into the sampler, you drag the presets or the samples straight in. I think jorgen is still working on SF2 input, as he only added it recently, but the odd thing is that the samples don't appear either, and yet the soundfonts play in sfz fine.
[edit - very nice app, by the way! forgot to mention that.

News from kitchen
I integrated VSTi dumper with my audioLabz sound engine - so now it is possible to hear presets. And i was added two note selector modes - red key mean range to next note, and blue mean single note. And i still dont know about that idea is ok
And next question is -> where i can find .fxb/.fxp specs ? i could not find it in vst sdk hmm..

Sorry for the german - keep on with the good work!

I know I'm probably missing something here, because I don't see much of a point to this. The only reason I could see for using something like this is to possibly decrease CPU load of hungry VSTi's. Why else would you want/need something like this program?
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

In general I'd agree...freeztar wrote:I know I'm probably missing something here, because I don't see much of a point to this. The only reason I could see for using something like this is to possibly decrease CPU load of hungry VSTi's. Why else would you want/need something like this program?
But then, it's REALLY saving a lot of CPU power, especially if you layer VSTis plus FX. Take that funny "Sophia" creation - I can barely play a chord on my 3GHz machine. Or take a layered Abysynth/FM7 pad creation - while both of them are very efficient, they will easily use up over 30% of my power too, once the release times are high enough and there's chord changes happening.
Further, I am REALLY familiar with the EXS, it's got very good sounding filters, so I don't need to get used to another UI all the time (well, I'm slowly switching to Kontakt, but that's another story).
Thirdly, some VSTis I've sampled in the past simply didn't have the feature set I wanted - for example, one of the first I sampled has been Tau because it didn't support pitchbend or polyphony. Now it does.
For me those are pretty good reasons.

Ahaaaa...ok, I didn't consider the layering issue because I've never really delved into that dimension
. Looks like I have a whole new universe to explore now
. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

There is no alpha release at this time because 'open editor' and 'load & save bank' are not implemented.
Midiworks: What is your vision about VSTi stacking ?
You mean playing several VSTi's in parallel ? With my audio engine everything is possible
But there is a problem with logical & easy & sensible editor that make all the thing possible (to edit);]

I hope they will be soon !CCT wrote:There is no alpha release at this time because 'open editor' and 'load & save bank' are not implemented.

at the same time. (Chainer style)
But for each VSTi it would be great to have control
over its velocity range also velocity X-fade
between the VSTi's would be very cool !
Those Velocity parameters could then be used to set
the Velocity-layes for the sf2 dump too, if wanted.
(OPTION)
A PAN & VOLUME for each VST & VSTi
A DRY/WET for the loaded VST FX is extreamly useful too.
Hope I did'nt forget anything.
It is going to be a great tool imo !!!
Keep up the good work !

VST editor opening and load/save .fxp is now possible
http://audiolabz.com/vd031.jpg
So the next thing to implement is .fxb load/save and add vst chaining. I thinked about something like this:
Synth1 -> Some reverb -> Delay line -> output
Synth2 ----------------|
With visualisation:
Synth1
Some reverb
Synth2
Delay line
With move up/down buttons.
