cool plugin.. but i works only on Audio channels.. Not instrument channels..

In Tracktion, I put it on a track that has an instrument and no worries. Does it do it with all instruments tested, or just a specific one? Which host are you using, and what resolution of audio?

Sorry for all the questions-- not badgering, just investigating.

It's doing that suuummmm and plug on every Ins channel in logic 5.51.. and i use 24bit if that is what you wanner know

Inst/Instrument channels is the channels you put vsts on in logic..

If i add discovery as a vst with the betabug plugin af effect, i get that plug sound. and if i put the effect on a audio channels and plays a wav file with the betabug effect on, it works just fine..

OK, thanks for the info. I'm not sure that any of us have Logic in order to test it out, but in theory a plug-in should work in any host, so hopefully Duncan's code optimization will sort it out. Thanks again!

well, 24bit shouldn't affect anything, since the host should convert everything into floating point values anyway before it arrives at the plug.
That it works with a wav is good. I don't know about how logic handles VST, but I am aware that ppl have had issues before. I'll ask around.

aren't Instrument channels only for VSTi this plug-in is designed to be used as an effect either in the inserts or auxiliary sends not as a playable instrument

The plug has IsSynth returning false, so it ain't calling itself a synth!

I'm getting the demo version of sx as we speak (provided the pinnacle servers don't barf like they did yesterday.. failing that CM CDs here I come!).

I'll do some testing myself. Someone on the CM forum reported the same thing.

Can you guys give me some idea of what soundcard, OS, sys-spec you have?

I tried on a channel from Battery 2 (a VSTi) and like I posted earlier, I got a lovely loud buzzing sound.

My Machine is as follows :-

P4C 3.0gig 800fsb
1 gig of DDR 400
Intel 865PE chipset MB (Gigabyte)
2 x 80 gig IDE drives (ATA100)
CW Luna II audiocard
UAD-1 DSP card
Remote 25
Radeon 9200 dual head Graphics Card
DLink Wifi network card
DVD burner, 17" TFT's, Logitech wireless mouse etc

Software :-

Win2000 Pro (SP4 and patched upto date)
Cubase SX 2.2035 (or whatever the latest V2 is)
Reaktor 4
Kontakt 1.5
Battery II
UAD-1 V3.7 PPI
All Smartelectronix stuff
+ various other VSTi's & Fx that get used now and again - the above is what it (your plugin) must work with for me to use it

Everything works like it should in Scope XTC mode (Creamware software envoironment) at 24/44.1 with about 10ms latency.

Well.. I can't get the sx demo to dl from the pinnacle site. I get to about 27%, then it keeps starting again....!

BUT I found a copy of the VST/32 v5 demo on a CM CD. Installed and finally got it working (How come NTrack works straight out of the box, but cubase doesn't?), and evrything is fine - FloFi works as advertised as a send effect, insert and Master channel.

SO
They changed something between VST/32 and SX..

If only I could get hold of a dang demo distribution!

yo mates .

first, i've tryed your other plugs and i found them really great. specially the filter one which have a cool sound .
was really interested on this one. not a lot of free pitch vst around here .
unfortunatly it didn't work for me .
i use sx2 and i own a tascam fw1884 (great piece of hardware btw ). when i insert your "latest baby" it makes the audio out overloading. the master go in the red.
the sound i get is a kind of strong sawtooth.

hope it helps... and you'll correct this soon .
