Ok I have just received another email from the seller of the Roland D50 on eBay and he has said that he hasn't heard back from the winning bidder of £245 and that the D-50 can be mine for £165.
I don't know but should I go for it or come to an agreement that I give him £145 remembering that the condition of the synth is one broken key, the side of it is slightly bashed, the cartridge doesn't work and the display numbers are fading on some patches.
SeaMoss you were right.

Yup, definitely looks as though SeaMoss was right. But if £145 was your maximum bid, stick to it... its not your fault someone 'else' outbid you and didnt pay, and if it hadnt happened at all you would have got it for £145. Otherwise, at the very least you're compensating for some wanker who never intended to buy, and at worst you're being conned.

I've had exactly 3 experiences on ebay all three flawless
1. A device my sister had called ionesclense that was supposed to be used by holistic healers, but she had enough money to buy one (and then some) I kept for it months and decided to sell it on ebay when I saw how much it cost. I left a reserve of 750 bucks and the first day it was met and the bids were around 800. At the end of the auction it shot up quick and sold for 1300+. Needless to say I was happy, I thought it was worthless. However this forced me into paypal as she paid with payal. But no problem, the paypal took a few days with the limits until the verify you, but I could spend what I want online and I needed a new reciever so I bought one online (not ebay) a Sony 7.1
2.It was around the same time but it was a purchase, I wanted a new controller, so I saw several auctions on the Roland A33, 76 keys, just what I was looking for to control my QSR. One was about to end and the guy lived in my town. I won the auction (200), 45 minutes later it was in my house. Funny side story, the guy called me and we set up a meet. I asked him where he bought it, he told me at Daddy's Junky Music in Nashua. I asked him about the salesman, he said a dude with really long hair. Well I was a salesman at daddy's in Nashua and I have long hair...you should of seen the look on his face, I sold him the controller to start. Infact it still has the price sticker I put on it.
3. Last summer my daughter's friend spilled milk inside her playstation 1. Not wanting to spend much, and knowing that soon she would get the palystation 2 (she did on xmas) I bought a playstation 1 without a cover, contollers or power supply for 5 dollars on ebay. 10 minutes after it arrived I used the two to make one working one.
I think looking at the users rating is important, but also the old saying if it's too good to be true it probably is, is the best approach.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Art, regardless of whether it's a scam or not I'm deeply troubled by the condition of this synth.Artmuzz wrote:

I know your intention is to go ahead and use it for a sound module but it sounds like this thing has been kicked around over the years and some of the boards could be cracked.
I would pass if I were you, sit tight and wait for either a D550 or D50 in good shape to go on sale.
Sit tight brother something better will come along.
IF and when you get one feel free to PM me with any questions, I still have my D50 and all manuals.
