Intresting, yes the price sounds steep, but hell it looks like a fine dandy program. Think it would be better for them to have some finished songs or tracks in the MP3 list. I do like sound effects, but more is anybody making songs with it ?

And some of the semi-pro toys like Giga and Absynth and even ST2 and SS2 still cost a lot more. We're just getting spoilt with nice toys like WS and Kubik being sold under $100...

$300 > $200

Even so I wouldn't complain about the Albino being priced at $200 b/c it is a "bread and butter" synth that has wide application AND has a distinctive high-quality sound. TO ME, $300 is too much for something that I won't use much (more of a specialty item), although if you're an experimental music maestro it might be worth it to you... For me, Reaktor covers that department well enough.

Just my opinion base on personal needs & priorities; however if there are enough people who share this opinion that Crusher-X is overpriced for their needs, the dev might reconsider his price.

Let me add that Crusher-X does look very well done and sophisticated and can create some interesting textures. The quality is definitely not a problem.
A well-behaved signature.

I use the standalone on just about everything, but it's electroacoustic music, no no 'songs' really. It's appeal is limited somewhat by the fact that the synth section seemingly can't be played like a conventional keyboard instrument (though I may be wrong about that, seeing as I haven't used the synth aspect much).

Now I'm toadally confused...is CrusherX Studio a synthesizer that one accesses through a MIDI keyboard? Or is it more like the Reaktor granular synths? Or is it some sorta effect? Has anyone purchased this yet?

It's a granular synthesiser/sampler/processor, though the sampler section seems to have been cut from the new VST version. It also (the standalone) has 4 oscillators that can modulate each other in various ways. I've never tried to control it with a keyboard, but everything has a midi CC, even the edit/undo.

Crusher-X Live (the standalone version) is not meant to be played from a keyboard controller. It is a live instrument that is meant to be manipulated as it runs. It can be controlled by midi controller via midi cc such as a Joystick or any midi knob box. As it runs all the changes to the sound can occur in realtime but you don't play it like a conventional synth. The closest I can think is Metaphysical Function.

Thanks for the information.

Hi,
i`m the author of crusherX. I calculated the price very hard. Its over 100.000 lines of code "inside" and i build up the trademark crusherX since long time. The development of crusherX-Studio! takes about a year of high quality ingeniering. The things you don't see makes the crusher sound so unique! The selling statistic is on a good way now. So i don't see a need of making the price lower the next time.

And be sure: I invest the earn money direct back to development and to one main thing: The support! - All registered users know this! Normally i can help out of problems into 24h. If needed with new updates! I think this is the only way you can go to keep things running in this strange and fast world and market.

And: I'm professional and i like to have professionals like you as users of the software.

best wishes

Sorry, but Nitro is not a granular processor. This is really not the same market. Its ok for sound design but if you like to create the sounds that are generated from modulated grain clouds with different controlled grainstreams i think crusherX is the only tool that offers this at the moment.
