I personally think Bach would love the new technology. After all, he embraced the pipe organ, which was the technological wonder of it's day. (still pretty amazing, actually) I remember reading stories of him getting kids to pump the bellows while he practiced in the cold church, with gloves that had the fingertips cut out of them. That is dedication! He would welcome a nice DAW in a warm house, with fewer kids. :D

At first, perhaps. But he would probably eventually get 'hounded off' for being a really intelligent christian conservative.

Thats nothing, the guy WALKED to England to hear Handel play!!! And he didn't even get a chance to hear him!!!

People were tough back then.

I know what he'd do with it......A HELL OF ALOT MORE THAN I DO WITH IT.

I don't think any of those great old composers would have too much difficulty using newer sounds to compliment their compositions, but I'm sure they'll be quite happy to use orchestral music as well - afterall orchestral music hasn't really lost its relevance.

he'd f**k it, and eat it

'but seriously folks', Bach... :hail:

was he human?!

he'd devour it, he'd push it further than anyone else could comfortably conceive. in fact he'd probably invent it.

Yeah, he'd think he died and went to heaven. Imagine him using a DAW on something like Toccata and Fuge in D minor.

Hey, imagine he hooked up with Rush as their keyboard player/co-composer (well, early Rush). Man, I can only dream what would have come out of that.

Bach would just make music with whatever means he had at his disposal.

Mozart on the other hand would probably get a Kyma setup :)

would add a kick and a bassline to his tracks :hihi:

I know Bach is godly, but walking across the English channel?

You're not confusing this with him actually walking 100 miles or so to hear Buxtehude? And he did manage to hear that guy. Amazing composer, btw.

Yeah, you know I have been looking through my histories of music and various other books and I can't find it anywhere. I guess you caught me out there.
