Myself first, anyone besides me who can endure it is most welcome to attend shows or buy CD's. The most copies of a single release I ever sold was about 1200, and a few were repeat customers, so I guess there are a small few looking for the same thing.
For soundtrack work, of course, the primary audience is composed of producers with dubious taste.

any insights as to *why* you make music for whomever you make it for would be great.

Never felt like I had much choice... it's sort of an obsessive drive... it's always been more trouble than it's worth on some level, but I can't stop...
Contrary to some, though, it's nothing to do with any sort of catharsis at all. I'm aiming for a sound that's very impersonal, prim(ordi)al, and that's not tied to any sort of human-oriented frame, which sounds like a load of pretentious bollocks, but I don't know how else to put it briefly.

At the moment I write music to sell, but if I am truly honest.... it's not the music I want to write. But I just don't think there is an immediant market for the music I want to write, not enough to pay the rent

If I get enough money to take time off, I will write the music that I want to really write. I wish it was my hobby sometimes, and that I earn't my money elswhere.
