Tubester sounds so fat that seems that I'm using the neck pickup all the time :?

Also seems to have a compresor coded inside.
The code checks and handles denormal state - do you have a high quality sound card on the input ?

Is so fat good or bad ?

No compressor inside - the valve model has feedback though which might account for the effect you are hearing

I loaded it in FL Studio, and I can disort the signal, but I can't give the sound just a subtle disortion.. :?
Tubester is really designed for high gain work with real guitars - it is not a general purpose tube warmer. Future developments will offer subtler noises :-)

Nice ...
no way that Tubester can currently compete with Cortex

but then Cortex sucks cpu like there is no tomorrow :-o

b.t.w.: if I am testing an amp-sim I'm using a guitar with jazz-strings (something like 13-53) and Tubester is completely breaking down to the bass-frequencies...

Depends what sounds you want - I use three stacked amps for my guitar sounds so its not the main noise but a different texture in the mix.

Yes, this is the main thing I noticed. A complete meltdown when the bass frequencies drive it.

ok found it - google was my friend - why isn't it listed in KVR ??

jens you are right - i had not listened to it by itself and it is totalling everything below Bb into a smooth, round mush.

In some ways this is ok for me and my hyper-driven guitar sound as it is the 3rd of three amps and does a fine job adding a bit of trash-noiz to the background. On its own though it is unusable ..... (unless of course your simming a trashed amp following a gear-wrecking encore .... tres rawk'n'rowl i'm sure ... )

Confirmed here too. :?

When used as a preamp, and by using a good gate, it is charging the gain as a bulldozer.

Used alone, it is unusable because of a weird behaviour of bass frequencies when you raise the gain fader too much. :(

Is this Tubester ? Try rolling off the bass somewhat and cranking the treble. I know the sound can get a bith much under some circumstances - we will make some changes to the tone stack

dunno :? - it's imo currently the best sounding amp-sim out there - very similar to the legendery J-Station :D
