Hehe, I love their late 80s orchestral dance reworkings - 'Always on my mind' and 'Left to my own devices' were marvellously over the top with orchestral bombast.Jbravo wrote: The Pet Shop Boys rework of "somwhere" from West Side Story is genius in my book - how they always manage to make an ecstatic stomper really sad at the same time is unique I think
Benny Benassi has the world conquered as far as stupid compression goes. Listen to the sidechaining on his stuff. To be fair it's being used as a special effect most of the time (I hope), but it still sounds pretty nasty.idobs wrote:Have you EVER heard that much compression on ANY song?! It's a catchy song, but the compressor pumps so hard that it's stressful to listen to...

That's the thing I dislike the most - over and above it just being a crap song.idobs wrote:Have you EVER heard that much compression on ANY song?! I'm sure it starts with one minor chord, then simply moves up a minor third, but with added octaves - nothing very weird reallyManc Chris wrote:
Speaking of the Pet Shop Boys ...... 'It's A Sin'? Does anyone know what THAT chord actually was? (If you don't know the song, you won't get the THAT chord reference)
