Hehe, I love their late 80s orchestral dance reworkings - 'Always on my mind' and 'Left to my own devices' were marvellously over the top with orchestral bombast. :D
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

Benny Benassi has the world conquered as far as stupid compression goes. Listen to the sidechaining on his stuff. To be fair it's being used as a special effect most of the time (I hope), but it still sounds pretty nasty.

yeah it's mental.. the kicks are all like black holes. an interesting way to get extreme punch tho, but way over the top! i kinda like it because it's so blatant and in-your-face going about it's sidechaining business.. but still it's a bit silly! :D
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Speaking of the Pet Shop Boys ...... 'It's A Sin'? Does anyone know what THAT chord actually was? (If you don't know the song, you won't get the THAT chord reference)

"Father Forgive me (IMMENSE SUSTAINED WEIRD CHORD) I tried not to do it".

The sexy workout video that was banned in the UK (supposedly) is what made this one popular. I guess ass shots and pumping girls sells music
Might be banned on BBC possibly, but Freeview channels show it.
And it still doesn't make me like the damn song!

That's the thing I dislike the most - over and above it just being a crap song.
That 'wooshing' over-compressed effect does my head in everytime.
Can't believe they got away with it.

Er, you mean Stevie Winwood's 'Valerie'?
 Er, yeah, I meant that.
Everybody seemed to know what I meant though.

4 2 floor crap?

Late 90's teen versions of Abba.
Uncountable versions of Janis Joplin's "Mercedes Benz".
Trancemix of Police's "Message in a Bottle".
Shep P's remix of NO's "Bizarre Love Triangle"
Motorheads' "Ace of Spades"

GRRRRR! :dog: :bang:

It's not always bad though

Pet SHop Boys killing U2 "Where The Streets..."

Can't we really blame Walter Carlos for starting all of this with "Hooked On Bach?"

I'm sure it starts with one minor chord, then simply moves up a minor third, but with added octaves - nothing very weird really
