i think the issue for me is if the thing exists it must be there, so i try to use it for what it is, because i cant see the difference between a thing as it is and what it could become.

a word of warning , regarding reaktor and FLS ...

you will want to make sure that any .ens you use has been set to the same sample rate that you are using in FLS audio settings ...

FLS doesn't like mis-matched sample rates very much ...

i use fl to create neatly 'wrapped' audio chunks; then orion for full arranging (well, at least until recently

I use FL Studio and it's excellent. But then, I've heard good things about Orion too and the workflow issue you raise really is the key. If you find that you intuitively prefer the way Orion "works", I'd go with that rather than worry about (relatively minor) differences in functionality.

Mind you, Traction is great too... Your best bet is to try them all for a few days really, and then decide.
