Seems like there has been a lot of reasonable advice already in this thread. But, if you want more votes, I'll vote for Sonar. I, too, have lots of plain .wav files -- many converted from akai format, also -- and I use them all the time very easily in Sonar with no problems. Basically, you open up the Loop Explorer View to preview them (at their original tempo if they have not been Acid-ized), drag & drop them into Sonar -- you can put multiple .wavs on a single track if you want -- a click or two to slice one, then you can drag the left and right sides to cover as much time as you want (at project tempo). It's a breeze and I use such .wavs in virtually every project. It's a piece of cakelsd wrote:which program is better suited for chopping up loops and syncing them to tempo? I know SX3 reads .rex and S4 does acid. I have alot of just plain .wav loops converted from akai format sitting around.
Anyone?
Freeze: Sonar 4 Vs. SX3
