for Kubik it's just one .dll - e.g. supereel2 is also just one .dll...

It’s not good to know that on a topic like this over at their forum is not addressed by someone of higher position.
At least they should inform their paid/registered customers of any current on-going update development with a reasonable projection of a release date.
Our wants are endless
My 2 cents

Why? So that Rich can deal with everyone whinging if it doesn't happen when he said it would? Why can't you trust him to release an update as soon as he feels its ready and worthwhile?justram wrote:At least they should inform their paid/registered customers of any current on-going update development with a reasonable projection of a release date.

How does this sound? Reprinted from the Synapse Forum:

Apart from many small improvements, OP6 will differ from everything else in two major areas:
1. New OS
Orion Platinum 6 is going to have its own operating system! This architecture allows IO latencies as low as 1ms, since no other threads or processes can disturb Orion. It'll be 100% file-compatible to Windows, and it autodetects ASIO and WDM drivers.
2. Fully customizable and programmable
Orion Platinum 6 is command-driven and fully customizable. It uses a familiar intuitive language to manage your projects, compose and arrange. That is necessary anyways, since initially there's little or no GUI, since that's too complex in a custom OS. Check the screenshot below to get an impression of how it looks in practice:

Do you have trouble understanding that Synapse Audio is just one person. Any time he spends doing other things, like making promises he has no idea if he can keep, just puts back the next update. Rich doesn't have a team of people to make a release roadmap and there is no-one he can call on to help him meet a meaningless deadline.
5.8 was released in November and had several good things in it. I doubt that 6.0 will contain anything more than that - a few useful new tools and maybe an improvement here and there. Unless you would rather wait for a year until Rich was able to implement something huge and new and fabulous that wouldn't help you do anything one bit better than you can now? ORION is a very mature product, it no longer needs monthly updates. If Rich played the same game as the big companies you wouldn't have got anything between 5 and 6, you would have to wait a hell of a lot longer than 4 months between updates and you would have to pay for them. Which system do you really prefer?
But the bottom line is that I still don't understand why you cannot trust the guy to do the right thing by you. If there isn't an update, its because Rich doesn't think there's anything worth releasing yet. That's good enough for me, it'll be years before I have exhausted all the possibilities 5.8 offers [if I ever do].

This is worse than I thought.
If this guy passes away we are screwed.
Nobody is rushing him now, hell we don’t want to give him a heart attack.
We’ll put him on the tubes if we must, just as long as he doesn’t move to Florida.
By the way with BFD and the likes almost any host will look good.

If Rich went under a bus tomorrow it would be very sad, he's a really good guy, but it wouldn't affect my ability to keep pumping out krap. I couldn't care less if he never did another thing to ORION.justram wrote:If this guy passes away we are screwed.

Fuckin' hell, now the Tracktion-Trolls have spawned an Orion subspecies.

Is Rich going to fix the "Recording Audio without the Record button being activated" issue in ver 6?
