i'm pretty sure he was!
Since when does Brian Eno call the shots at Polygram? It strikes me as a bit of a reach to blame Eno for that incident. I rather doubt that anyone asked his opinion.

Island was bought by Polygram in '89. The Negativeland suit was filed in '91, in the name of Island, but Island was no longer an independent company.

Had this done in like 1984 or something.

Basically wire up a single speaker to the + side of your L/R amplifier outputs in addition to the normal L/R speakers.
I think that was on his Discreet Music album released in 1975. I used that technique on several rooms I lived in. It was a subtle effect but nice.

Haven't heard this new work, but he's also released a new collaboration with Fripp, of which I've only managed to sample small portions. On the surface it had some nice sounding stuff, but it would really need a good long listen to make any judgement.

haha...don't f**k up his game by pointing out the idiocy of his pointless, boring rant!! :D

it's especially important that you don't let any conception of wrongness interfere with your consumption based entertainment. hopefully brian was magnaminous enough to satisfy your hunger.

i relly dunno whar i was goin wiv da hole eno/island thing, especially given the outstanding artist/producer reaction to this event, you know how music isn't an artists' responsibility or anything

much like spending,

oops! i mean enjoying! :)

Just hauled out the old vinyl - the one that I followed is on the back of 'Ambient #4 On Land'

I've only got Ambient 1, Ambient 4, The Peal with Roger Budd, and the Apollo Atmospheres work.

So-so keen to listen to his new one.

Used to be a big fan. Felt that 1997's "the drop" was a chance to release ALL the f**king tracks to be used for TV news backing music and rake the cash in from there.

I heard most of the new album's songs on radio last Sunday, and I was not afraid to cry.
