Do people really still buy products based on the ethics of the company that creates them?

Mr Jobs said Flash was made for an era of "PCs and mice"

Note to Steveo: It's about time you admitted that Apple has completely lost and given up on the personal computer market. Good on you! You have led your company and customers into the mp3-download and telephone business. I suppose that's fine if you're the kind of person that prefers form over function.

For the foreseeable personal computer future, it's still the era of "PCs and mice". A real personal computer running the Microsoft OS can still run Flash just fine despite the fact that Apple can't seem to build a product that can compete in the personal computer market.

Mr Jobs, this is 2010. Microsoft demoed the first tablet PC in 2001, 1GHz processors were fist produced in 2000. Someone is living in the past and the evidence points at Apple. Apple's 2010 release of 2001 technology is not cutting edge.

It's not surprising or unexpected that the iPhone/iPad family of Apple products are not capable of competing with a modern 2010 personal computer. They barely compete with my 212Mhz 2003 Palm Zire.

f**k that dude, I'll buy something I like from a company who rapes kittens, if they make a product that makes my life easier. I don't give a f**k. I mean, a company that rapes kittens probably wouldn't do business for long but obviously I was using hyperbole.

Corporations, even the ones which we have high ideals of, do f**ked up shit to make money. It may not be company policy to do so but individuals are capable of horrible inequity, if they can blind themselves from the consequences. A corporate environment breeds that kind of shit. I know, I've seen otherwise-good people do awful things to make money for their company... simply because they weren't aware of the repercussions.

He drinks the same Apple koolaid that many customers do, so none of this is surprising. Apple also has a bad case of not-invented-here syndrome.

Jobs pisses me off. Look.. I'm ok with the fact that it can't run Flash well. It's old ... old technology in a pretty dress. That's fine too.

What really pisses me off is that in his head it's Adobe's fault that Apple designed and built a 2010 "net" capable machine using 2001 technology that can't display 75% ... 85% if you include Silverlight of the video on the net. He's an idiot.

This could be interesting.. WebOS is cool. HP paid 1.2 billion. That's a lot of money.

HP to buy Palm… WebOS tablets on the way?

It'a different interface but I can't think of a lot you can do on a ipad/iphone that I can't do on my 2003 Palm.

AAMOF the Palm does a lot they don't. Record video, record audio, take pictures, web browser, email, WiFi, GPS, built in camera, play movies, mp3s, SD slot, Mobi book reader, full function sample based sequencer, Atari-NES-Amiga-ECT.. emulators, on-screen and IR keyboards.

To top it off it does handwriting recognition and fit's in my shit pocket. My Palm is not a phone because I purposely wanted two seperate devices but the Treo is.
