No, z3ta+ has a broad palette of sounds available for it. There are a bunch trance banks and programs though as this was popular when it was first released in 04. z3ta+ is a very versatile synth though which is one reason I decided to produce a bank for it.Is Z3ta geared toward any particular type of music?
My upcoming Avant-Garde bank will further expand the z3ta+. Its in beta testing now.

Good to know, because trance is mostly what I've heard out of it, and trance I do not like. I'm mostly interested in ambient...ish sounds. I think.RandomWave wrote:No, z3ta+ has a broad palette of sounds available for it. In any case it's hard to go wrong at 20$. Now if only Albino would be sold at a big discount. Love the sound of that one. How albinoish is Z3ta?
Interesting. My upcoming Avant-Garde bank will further expand the z3ta+. Its in beta testing now.![]()

Well its probably Cubase's fault..V'ger wrote:How so?
I've had no trouble with it in Reaper + XP and find both the synth and FX version stable, useful and good sounding. Only thing is I haven't used it all that much after getting a handful of other synths, but that's another matter altogether..

This may have already been mentioned or may seem a little off topic, but if you are looking for good ambient sounds, you owe it to yourself to look at the Planet Earth product from Camel Audio. They are currently doing a "Pay What you Want" promotion for it, and it is FANTASTIC for ambient.JohnDX wrote:Good to know, because trance is mostly what I've heard out of it, and trance I do not like. From the little I've used it, z3ta seems somewhat harsh in its sound (maybe it's just the presets). But that's okay, makes for good leads and brutal basses, and I'll have to use something else for the mellow pad and/or soundscape in the background (biohazard has some good stuff in that department).

Morphine is so much fun john... I love it. If you have access to the looptalk forum on FL Studio.com I started a thread on Morphine (it's on the first page) with an mp3 of some sounds I made... Huge fun factor with morphine... Toxic is great too... And so is z3ta of course.. We're so lucky that we can get such great instruments for so little money...
Play it by ear

I wouldn't say Z3TA+ is harsh, it's pretty much right in the middle. Doesn't really stand out far in any particular way.
I do like the harsher sounds in it, but it's not going to cut through any mix unless it's all flutes.

$20 is a great deal. I'll pick one up at that price for sure.
Why fart around with cult 'noisemaking' freebies when something that's so immediately useable is available so (relatively) cheaply?
Sure, like what you like and right tool for the job etc... But given the feature set, sounds and performance, even though it's older than Adam's dad, this is one of the easy decision to make.
Sold!

The Avant-Garde bank doesnt have a trance or dance sound in sight (or sound).Good to know, because trance is mostly what I've heard out of it, and trance I do not like. I'm mostly interested in ambient...ish sounds.
It can have a harsh edge to it if you want it to depending on how you EQ the sounds, use the distortion effect and amp models. From the little I've used it, z3ta seems somewhat harsh in its sound (maybe it's just the presets).
Z3ta+ is very versatile though. I manged to get a few great "famous" reditions out of it that cover a wide variety of analog and digital hybrid synths surprisingly. These will be in the Avant-Garde sound bank and will be featured in the audio demo as well.

Okay, maybe you're right. I'm not sure I have my terminology down yet, and my ears need training.RunBeerRun wrote:I wouldn't say Z3TA+ is harsh, it's pretty much right in the middle. Doesn't really stand out far in any particular way.

No access to anything on that site yet, but maybe I get it with that purchase. I also consider getting FLS. I'll probably be a preset-whore for a while when it comes to Morphine...pheeleep wrote:Morphine is so much fun john... I love it.
