Hardly the "worst ever" -- I think it's beautiful.Kriminal wrote:worst GUI ever, apart from Poly of course.Markus from Tone2.com wrote:![]()
I would have absolutely NO problem working with it. In fact, the full-size image is perfect for my screen.

second worst if you read the post correctly..IMO...it looks like they took a really bad GUi, and solarised it to make it worsedhalfen wrote:Hardly the "worst ever"Kriminal wrote:worst GUI ever, apart from Poly of course.Markus from Tone2.com wrote:![]()

Concerning the style it's clear that tastes change from person to person. BTW a serious musician/producer usually focus his attention more on the sound and features of an instrument. The GUI is an important aspect but not so important if your goal is to produce some music and not satisfy some fetish
For me it is not whether it is 'pretty' but whether it is functional. That particular skin with the glow over everything is casting shadows all over the place making the whole thing look hazy, harder to read and busier than it would be otherwise.
Funny that you should mention satisfying a fetish over making music cause it is the fetish of the developer to add visual elements to be more 'realistic' that make the skin less visually functional. Ironically, all those hard edged raytraced shadows at odd angles are not in the slightest bit realistic anyway... and some of the shadows are cast across lcd screens!!
Thankfully the white skin doesn't have most of that crap... which is problem solved for me should I like the synth and get it. The white one still has some odd rendered reflections and weird extraneous shit in the lcd's but it is not much in the eyes way...

nice little dig there...but my point is, that if the GUI is bad, its not conducive to productivity, serious musician or not...but as you have a ested interest in this, i wont take your comments too seriously...MaxSynths wrote: Concerning the style it's clear that tastes change from person to person. the GUI is very important, but some devs seem to favour from over functionMaxSynths wrote: The GUI is an important aspect but not so important if your goal is to produce some music and not satisfy some fetish
a usable GUI is a billion times better than one that 'looks cool' or some shit like that.

Actually the main problem with this GUI is the lack of a hot little chicky in garters like the one thats in "Harmless" !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Financial solvency and KVR Mix as well as oil and water.

My biggest problem with it is the LCD screen back light effects. First of all, any LCD in real life that had lighting that uneven would get laughed at. Of course in today's world of OLEDs this is down right silly and antiquated. No point. Maybe do a very slight gradient on them and a little internal shadow... about 5 pixels worth should be plenty but make it subtle. NO reflection or any nonsense please.Kriminal wrote:second worst if you read the post correctly..IMO...it looks like they took a really bad GUi, and solarised it to make it worsedhalfen wrote:Hardly the "worst ever"Kriminal wrote:worst GUI ever, apart from Poly of course.Markus from Tone2.com wrote:![]()

I thought you were interested in the layer importing function. Now that I told you that it's something that can be done easily you moved your attention to the GUI?pdxindy wrote:Funny that you should mention satisfying a fetish over making music cause it is the fetish of the developer[etc...]
@Kriminal: I have no specific interests here. The beta and sound programming stage is finished and I'm only sharing my personal opinions as a user.
BTW if someone have a specific and more intelligent question feel free to ask. But please, stop the "I like/dislike" GUI comments, it's a total waste of time and you know why (in other words: that is the GUI, like it or not!

Oh, thanks... I missed that on the last page... cool that you can do that... although in the future it would be slicker to not have to switch presets and just have a layer import function, but I don't necessarily remember which layer a sound was in anyway and this works fine... and I can be interested in a number of different things at the same time...MaxSynths wrote:I thought you were interested in the layer importing function. regarding that particular skin... I like any range of different looks... sure people like one gui or not another... but it is not just a matter of liking red better than blue... all those shadows serve no function and make it visually tiring and the glow makes the light text in the lcd screen harder to read... but like I said that is not a problem cause there are other skins to choose from.

i didnt actually ask a question, but if i think of one, i will...unless its not an intelligent one, then i wont, as requested by you, who has no specific interest in this synth, but seems to know a lot about it....MaxSynths wrote: BTW if someone have a specific and more intelligent question feel free to ask.

Well in any case you have to browse for the patch you want to import the layer from, so after all (from inside ElectraX browser or from another open dialog) it's the same thingpdxindy wrote:Oh, thanks...
