I'm surprised you dont have some fanes, I had fanes in both a hi-watt 4x12 and a tusc 2x12 (the onlly thing that company did right imo), both were awesome cabs. I have been thinking about geting fanes to swap out sometimes just recently...I can say one thing for sure, that hi-watt was the loudest 4x12 I ever heard and was awesome with both my plexi and my boogie

I guy I use to jam with a lot had an old Marshall 4x12 'Tallboy' that was interesting, he had a JCM 800 on it but I tried it a lot with both my plexi and boogie (and vice versa, he liked to use my hi-watt) but I still preferred the hi-watt

Size and LOUD wise, the Marshall ModeFour MF400B Base 4x12" cabinet was huge in every sense on the word. Massively oversized, A low-end that could easily take a bass and bass amp and it was a really gut thumping air mover Only reason i got rid was weight, awkward size and did i mention WEIGHT? You know how via the degenerative spine/disc/nerve thing i got going for me just could not lug it around or rely on others to do it for me It was Randall BIG

These are the Park cabs, though mine look a bit different, exactly like real 1960s minus the piping, and they are mono like shown

I'll certainly report, but it will take until end of the year at least, provided everything goes as planned

@ Dean,
expect lots of geeky discussions about these topics in the near future , microphones and preamps are an area where I have a lot to learn, first about theory, and then by doing my own hands-on experimentation.
I know the basics about construction, polar diagrams, wiring, how to read spec sheets, but buying a few mics (next year) that add something sensible to my tiny current collection is a different ballgame.
And then getting to know their quirks ...
At least, fine tuning level, pan and phase like you suggested, will be a breeze thanks to Bootsie's miraculous PreFix !

Yes they are the same as the Valvestate models i have had. A 2x12" second gen stereo chorus valve state and a first version 100 watt head/4x12". I actually miss the old 'contour' pot/control from those valvestate amps as now its just a 'mid-shift' button which is far too shifted/scooped to use other than at home when playing quite as possible on the DSL/TSL. With the contour you could just take it up around 8 - 9 o'clock and it was ideal. Amps i learned to doom, thrash & death on. If i saw one cheap i would have it for the old contour control and sometimes a solid-state works for clinically precise rhythmic work. Good times and yeah preFIX will be you best friend/absolutely the best tool for your 'cab and control room' scenario. Bring on winter

Barry, Hope it goes well/works if you do go for the Eminance speakers. Please let us know how they get on as i am very intrested and wish Celestion had done it then i would of had at least one by now...Meh amerika for going for it first

and yes that's a 4x12 and the speakers are staggered, I found it quite peculiar. I'm not saying I didn't like it, it was just weird...I wonder if that will ever get modeled?

Weird indeed !
Never saw one of these in person ...
While I don't expect it to sound much different when modeled, I can see it projecting nicely on stage, better aimed at your head somehow.

I just got a new amp, kind of

I'm tube amp reliant now when tracking, before I would use the pod xt or my amps as reference amps so I can use direct monitor while recording a dry re-amp signal. Well, I no longer use the pod..it's out (why in a bit). So I took the xt live and brought it oiut to the living room and it lives under my home entertainment center now. Part of that is a Bose Acoustic Wave that I sometimes have hooked up to laptop but not often (my laptop has outs to my main stereo). So the xt live plugs into the bose, I installed gearbox on my laptop so now I have a practice amp for those times I just feel like messing about with my guitar while watching the game or someting. It is true though, only a madman would hide a pedalboard away, plug it into an overpriced clock radio that sounds pretty good and control it all from a laptop...for a practice amp (and yes I can record it too).

Now why I removed the xt from my chain. I was only using the tuner in it as of late but it was using one of the outputs of my ABY box. By freeing that up I now can still keep the bypass output connected for my dry guitar for later re-amping and have the ABY for the Frenzel making it a two channel amp or run A and B using both input channels on the front of the frenzel at the same time, it has a seprate input gain for each input ('F' type and 'M' type)

Trust me, I've been there.
The doc sold me 3 PUs and an OD, solved quite some problems but healthcare didn't care for the bill.

I like the speakers in the 1st one better, btw, especially the Gold - the 2nd one has a bit too much of that nasal mid peak known from the TS 808, the SH-4 or V30s - just not my cup of tea personally, though the guy sure makes it sound good.
