Would you do me a favour como baila..? after you close the app, could you examine the Win Task Manager and look for the RapidComposer.exe process and tell me if it has cleared (no longer listed) from the Processes tab..? Or, like me, is it still 'visible' (hanging around..!) in the list and not properly finished/cleared as a process - in my case, this takes several minutes to fully clear...

I ask, since I'm just looking for related stuff/clues, as I have issues with launching RC as a VSTi in Cubase (32bit) which I think you've read about. Though, in my case, I do not have cause to mess with any MIDI ports inbetween times.

Hmmm... yes, this behavior is known for many other applications (even Firefox, Corel Paintshop Pro, etc.)

It is not due to the application itself, but to the memory management by Windows which sometimes needs lot of time to clear and deallocate the RAM and to reorganize the paged virtual memory. With Firefox for example, I observe sometimes more that three minutes to see the task disappear in the tasklist, even if I clear the memory/disk caches before I close it (but yes it decreases a little bit the time to free the task, so developers must always take care to clear (and purge) all their objects in their "close application" procedures and not only trust the operating system despite it should be its job). Since its birth Windows has never been very optimal in the release of the memory after the closing of an application.

Hi como baila,
it would be a great help if you could send me your project that causes RC VSTi to hang. I opened compositions created by the standalone version in the VST plug-in and vice versa, but it always worked. It is possible that RC freezes when Cubase restores its state. To debug this the new beta version (v2.56b13 - available now

) will write the data that Cubase sends to RC to a file (C:\Users\Public\RCVSTstate.bin). If the plug-in hangs, please check the existence of this file, and send it to me.

To be clear ... when Cubase hung I then reopened RC standalone, restored the midi port setting to the one that I had used with the Cubase project earlier, and then I was able to open the project.

I've had no problems opening a project started in either VSTi or standalone as the opposite. I only had the problem when a project I started in VSTi was opened in standalone, had the midi port changed and then the project was closed. Now when I tried to open it Cubase with the changed midi port Cubase hung.

Did you test the way I am describing?

I will be happy to test for you if you instruct me exactly what you want. Even though I successfully opened the project in Cubase after I changed the midi port back, do you still want me to email you that project?

Hi,
1-select time line right to left (shift drag) seems allows to select extra bars before the start of the arrangement.
2- masked (?) shrinked phrases via drgging the left + right edges seems cannot copied
when you copy-duplicate the Lines / Parts..
in this case so far i tried, Generators ok also splitted phrases ok too.

Just tried the beta feed page <feed://www.musicdevelopments.com/beta.xml> but there's no download link and the "read more" link is bad and leads to a page not found error

I had no issues ... but that's not the URL Attila sent me that you post. I don't think he wants the beta links in the forum ... so just email him and he'll send them to you.

Actually no it has not.

But I'm gonna send dbender the links by private pm. I think there is no problem since the beta are usable only with the licence registration.

Hi,
when you switch to edit mode all generators switches to regular phrase "Edited" mode with no exception..even you didn't touch anything.
...
currently i am working on a piece has 7/8 time signature

- applied progression doesn't adjust itself automatically ( works in 4/4 TS)

- staccato generator comes always 4 beat not 7
(other generators seems ok for this auto beat adjustment)

- seems midi export has bug too
i am attaching an example project track 1 has finger pick generator and i can not export this track correctly.

No, no. I've just deinstalled my purchased copy to install the beta version as if I were not a registered purchaser, and here is the result:

So there is no problem. A person who has not purchased the product can't use the beta version.

Hello Attila

I've just found a new bug (with crash) concerning the GUI.

Very simple to reproduce:

Go to the VSTI's List
Click the button Add
Then click the cancel button of the "Open" window

That's all... It crashes.

And another one (more annoying):

Go to the VSTI's List
Click the button Add
Choose a VSTi (a good one of course, and without making a mistake about 32/64 bit architecture)
Then click the "Ok" button of the "Open" window to validate the choice

That's all... It crashes.

So this bug is probably very recent because it didn't exist in the 2.55 release.

Could you repair it very quickly? Because I am in a state that I can't add any VSTi since I made two hours ago a full reinstallation with the last beta to give the picture in this post http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2#p5656662 (or I can restart by reinstalling first the 2.55 release)
