Not wanting to get in to the rest of the debate, but you definitely can use RE's without an ignition key. I bought reason second hand and dont have a key and can use Re's (at least the freebies and some demos) just fine without a key. However maybe that is a limitation on 6.5 that isnt on 7, I dont knowkmonkey wrote: Have in mind that ONE CAN NOT test RE unless Reason ignition key is in your computer (i asked this and Props confirmed it)

Bear in mind he says TEST (as in demo mode) rather than USE.

Guess it depends on what is being demo'd. Maybe they do not allow you to try RE's in a demo version of reason. They do let you demo/test RE's in a regular version of reason with no key. Could be some info missing out of all of itEvilDragon wrote:Bear in mind he says TEST (as in demo mode) rather than USE.

Yeah i should be more specific. I was trying out DEMO without ignition key. I don't know how is now but when RE was released one could not test Reason with RE without ignition key. Reason alone is working in demo mode but RE's can't be even installed which are (ironically) reason why i installed Reason demo in the first place.ezelkow1 wrote:Guess it depends on what is being demo'd. And just to be clear. I am not Reason hater. I remember Reason 1.0 was my first or second app back then. I do not hate it, i was really excited when RE came out, but i was very disappointed seeing how badly everything around it turned out. Note: badly for my taste. I guess many are working with RE's nicely and in a good way.
Oh and edit2: Reason sound most definitely can sell - IMHO
for non believers check that dude, i remember his songs i think he is called Josh Mobley. Try to find tune "I'm in Here" - freakin fantastic imho
edit: here (Demo song for Propellerhead Software Abbey Roads keyboard refill instrument library)

And rest is superb..so much about Reason not being capable to deliver nice result..

Ok, i'm back here to tell something. I have to apolologize for mocking Reason.
I had some very bad times related to my mental state issues. Another thing I discovered was that my midi keyboard did some changes to some of the parameters which screwed up some knobs, without me knowing it.
I'm making music at the moment and it sounds really good. Reason sound is able to sell, END OF STORY. It was my own fault, sorry for making this thread.

I guess that was pretty clear, right from the beginning. Considering how many record The Prodigy and Beastie Boys sold using Reason. And Tom Middleton, Guy Called Gerald, Hank Shocklee and and and...deep'n'dark wrote:Reason sound is able to sell, END OF STORY.

It's too late. You can't take back the past. The Reason sound does not sell.deep'n'dark wrote:Ok, i'm back here to tell something. I have to apolologize for mocking Reason.

People are selling records with tracks made in Reason, using the sounds within Reason.
By this logic alone, the Reason sound does in fact sell.
