Good Day Everyone,

I am pleased to let everyone know THE CHEM SET soundbank for Ultra Analog has been converted to include VA-2 bank format for those who have it for VA-1 and those wish to purchase for either VA-1 and/or VA-2. :)

This is a free upgrade for anyone who previously purchased THE CHEM SET. Please email per the contact info listed on RANDOM WAVE MUSIC website to receive the download info. The documentation has been updated accordingly.

THE CHEM SET soundbank is also currently on sale for those who wish to purchase it for Ultra Analog VA-1 and/or VA-2 likewise. :)

Cheers!

I've been watching this thread for a while and heard all the complaints about the UI being too small, the terrible patch browser, the tabbed interface, etc. Well, I finally paid my $29 and upgraded, and all I have to say is, "why didn't I listen?". :(

I'd say right now the only flaw it has is the tiny interface. Even some of the presets have some nice sound quality to it.

Yes, the sound is good. I don't like having to use the mouse to browse patches. U-he products let you use the arrow keys to select patches. NI requires you to hit enter to load the patch, but at least you can navigate with the keys. I have several AAS products and like them all, but this one is a step backwards in usability.

This is great news as the Chem Set is one of my favourite 3rd party banks for UA. :D
(I had your skin as default as well!)

As for the GUI........I once had an Oberheim Matrix 6, try to program one of those suckers in a hurry and see how far you get  My point being, surely sound quality is the main requirement in an audio instrument?????

Yes, and the ONLY reason I bought it.

If you allow me, at the present time, to my sensitivity they a bunch of awesome synth, all greater the ones to the others, UA Is undouptely one of them...

Not much things to say except that i,m guetting desperate to decently dig deep enough, into the ones own for own satisfaction as sound designer, i simple don,t find the Time anymore...

Just wanted to add a little touch, somehow confused but à bit more humble to this thread...

Yes of course, otherwise most of us wouldn't be here at all. But if you're into programming your own patches then you work a lot closely with the finer aspects of the synth, and there it helps to see what you're doing. I programmed a DX7 for a number of years (so there!) and that wasn't easy either till I started using a software editor for it (easiER...), but at least I could read all the writing on the buttons and the parameter data from the LCD without squinting. ;)

All fair points (I actually sold my DX7 to afford the Matrix6), maybe it's because I am old and need to wear glasses for reading (everything looks nice and sharp when I wear them) that I don't have a problem with the GUI :D

Me too! But I think the problem is in the pixel size to screen size ratio...

Just a word to say that our two soundsets for Ultra Analog have been carefully converted by AAS themselves ( Kudos to them :tu: :tu: :tu:) and that this version will be soon available -next week probably- for the hundred of people who have already purchased Nec+ Ultra by simple email demand. ( for free of course )

Then the Version 2 of the soundsets will also be available in a near future for new customers who only have UA V2, but I'll give more details about that in the near future.

I'll suggest nevertheless that the people who have UA1 and our soundset let the UA1 installed on their system. Not only for compatibility with older projects, but also because the topology of effects, at the very least, have changed. Therefore some patches might/will sound different. ANd this is conformed by AAS.

Its difficult for me to test all the 260+ patches of Nec+Ultra, and see what has chenged, or not. At first sight, patches sound very similar, but I'll need some more time to investigate about all this, and as I'm buried in work atm, this will take at least one or two weeks.

Meanwhile ...... the best option if you're interested in our Ultra Analog banks and have V1 and V2, or simply one of the two versions, is to get them now :) This way you'll have version 1 and version 2 of the banks, so best of both worlds.

Nec+Ultra 260 patches less than 17€

Fx Ceremony 128 patches less than 17€ ( craziest ALL FX soundbank I've ever seen, made by my friend Tzadi

Rob Lee made a sound demo for Nec+Ultra here it is. You'll find different demos in other styles on the site, but this one has Rob's style. Here it is

I get this GUI error in Orion on both systems:

I'll report it to AAS tomorrow.....already reported to Synapse. Only happens in Orion.

Damn VA-2 is a pain in the arse to program...I'm afraid I'll have to join the chorus of those who say to AAS "What were you thinking when you designed this tiny GUI ?" :?

I worked with UA VA-2 last night for about 4 hours. I had to turn on Mac Accessibility and use the "Zoom gesture" on my mouse to work with the instrument. It gets tiring zooming in to program VA-2 and then back out to work with my DAW (and every other virtual instrument GUI).

The sounds are wonderful... and I am willing to squint during short intervals of music making... but it is a GUI that is very difficult for me to use productively.

If you are interested, here is yesterday's track: "Lovell" which showcases several VA-2 sounds: https://soundcloud.com/theredhawkprojec ... -29-lovell
