Basically, If this synth is analogue, that would be quite cool . If this synth is digital and has a supersaw, that would be quite cool.

If this synth is digital with no supersaw that would be major fail!

Although it looks like its going to be an analogue synth to me, otherwise why would they design it to look like one?

Can't wait to find out.

definitely not analog. before it says System-1 you can make out "plug out synthesizer". to me, it suggests that you will be able to load different synths (like a Jupiter, Juno, or SH-101) into it . think, a hardware VST synth host, if you will, but that's just a guess on my part. kind of hoping that's what it'll do as that seems interesting to me.

It's VA, it's pretty clear from all the videos.

It seems the System 1 will be able to have different algorythms, exchanged via a pc editor.

Mosts VA's look like analogue synths, there's a clue in the name

No supersaw is a bonus, its such a one trick genre specific pony.

not really.

So far looks like nothing new here
Repackaged voice transformer
Synths seems to be repackaged VariOS
Drums are straight VA
They obviously have nothing of major impact or the dragged out overhyped silliness would not have been needed ;)

It's not analogue, it's circuit modelling (with a different, silly naming, as usually these big companies do like to add to make it appear they invented something). So, it's a VA, that's something I took almost for sure. The synth and everything else.

I'm slightly excited about the tb03 and 808 but jeesh is that a touch screen i can see on the tb03? :uhuhuh: ...part of the original we're the original were the actual knobs, although it appears to have some

The system 1 looks quite nice but if it is VA then it is falling short of the current trends of real analogs I reckon
live 11 / Arturia collection / many Softube plug ins / thats it

To me the major appeal of these is the how whole "set" looks and how it will be fun jamming on it.

If the system 1 and the 303 are multitimbral and both have sequencers the fun factor could be very cool.

It does seem like that doesn't it. What a joke. They really have missed the resurgence of analogue boat haven't they. Oh well, nevermind.

Lets see what the pricing is, and quality of course. Something like that thats analogue would be very expensive. Something digital of great quality can be very reasonable priced, and will prob sell way more than an analogue version.

I see tons of bands using the SH-201 and Gaia, very popular it seems with whatever the hip genres are right now. Dont forget, not everyone is an analogue freak, some ppl just like to make music on a great sounding reliable synth.

But, its still a case of wait and see, it might be a pile of shite :hihi:

If they do circuit modelling the right way, and create really good models, then this could actually be pretty good. Roland launches great instruments every now and then (the V-Synth just come to mind). Somehow, I have good expectations on this system.

Well, despite hoping for a hybrid {has that been completely ruled out yet, btw ? analog compressor on the master bus of the tr-8 perhaps ?...but I digress} I did call the highfalutin circuit modelling aspect of this exactly a month ago {page 8}

*pats self on the back* :D

Not in the analog direction many of us were hoping for, but at least as far as digital goes - Virtual Analog to be specific - they are at least pushing boundaries in hardware {shout out, of course, to the software pioneers like Vadim Zavalishin, currently @ NI, and Andy @ Cytomic who} - or has this been done in hardware already ? Even so, not for the classic roland boxes. we'll have to hear how it sounds first of course, maybe they're not so hot at the modelling ;)

And of course these XOX boxes are for performers, so criticisms from sound designers or people primarily only interested in these boxes for sound design potential are falling on deaf ears here... my judgement will be reserved until I can try them out or at least feedback from users who judge these units on their performance potential, primarily.
