Pay attention to Sytrus! ;)

"Sytrus uses a combination of subtractive synthesis, additive synthesis  , FM synthesis and ring modulation"

Then replace my statement with "premade formulas" ;)

Organ I - Change signal to a more organ-like tone.
Parameters: Style (fewer/simpler harmonics as style increases), Damping
Organ II - Another organ effect.
Parameters: Style (Home/Theatre/Clear/Dry/Glas), Bass, Damping

So it's the same (limited) technique like on Razor (and afaik on Blade).

I've played around with it for maybe 30 minutes at a studio ~10 months ago... so sorry if i can't remember all features ;)

Cool! I'm just waiting for my back meds to kick in so that I will be able to spend a couple hours upstairs in the studio without too much pain. :)

Sytrus is one synth I can't recommend enough, though the interface is atrociously small, requiring either a scanning electron microscope or a screen rescaled to 640K.

Not what I wanted to hear....or see, rather. My eyesight stinks....even with my 34" widescreen right in front of me.

I sure wish all developer's would allow resizing of their GUI's.

You will definitely suffer there. Sytrus will be smaller than that Fabfilter thingy on the bottom left. Try the demo and see.

Going back to Harmor for a minute. What's the difference between Harmor and Morphine? Both are additive synths with resynthesis.

Post

I just demoed it and LOVE the sound of Sytrus! Great patches for my New Age music......but yes, soooo small is the GUI that I have to squint just to make edits. :dog: Why, oh why did they make it so small???? Their developers must be young with fantastic eyes. :)

Screen resolutions used to be a lot lower. A lot of software has this issue.

Mainly the workflow and Harmor's take on timbre shaping is rather unique. Harmor's resynthesis is also way better. It enables to work on partials in totally different ways than classical additive synthesisers.

You should try both and make your own opinion

Have just checked your website and music, what a fantastic pallette of sounds you have created.

Thanks for this, Satch1. I had no idea this series of tutorials even existed.
You're welcome. He's a fantastic youtuber constantly putting out excellent tutorial videos amongst other things (little plug for him). :)

Whenever I see a G.A.S. inducing thread about one of the hardware additives like the Kawai K5, K5000, I spark up Harmor and think, "I'm good."

Ya, Harmor does remind me some of the K5 and K5000.....which were killer synths IMO.
