Indeed, what was I thinking?

So the difference between this and MicroKorg or MiniNova is that Minilouge has got analouge signal path?Mushy Mushy wrote:Guys, especially Numy, this is a $500 analogue polysynth.
I repeat a $500 analogue polysynth.
Yes indeed, analogue costs money.Numanoid wrote:So the difference between this and MicroKorg or MiniNova is that Minilouge has got analouge signal path?
But if they don't sound that different, why pay more for analogue?Mushy Mushy wrote:The jury's still out on how different it sounds compared to your synth examples, but in terms of having a fully analogue synth that price it's quite a feat.
Let's be clear on my comment. I said the jury's still out on the sound because the synth has only been out for 3.5 minutes. It would be a bit naive to say it's better than anything in that price range.Numanoid wrote:But if they don't sound that different, why pay more for analogue?
After 50 minutes of erm, beating, erm about the erm, bush.Mushy Mushy wrote: As Gaz Williams said "this has kicked the door open for the entire industry".

It does sound different. It sounds like a proper analog synth. Other synths you mentioned have their own sound (and aliasing issues, which are non-existant with an analog synth).Numanoid wrote:But if they don't sound that different, why pay more for analogue?Mushy Mushy wrote:The jury's still out on how different it sounds compared to your synth examples, but in terms of having a fully analogue synth that price it's quite a feat.
OK, that is a good point.EvilDragon wrote:It does sound different. It sounds like a proper analog synth. Other synths you mentioned have their own sound (and aliasing issues, which are non-existant with an analog synth).
We still have 5 left. Also, once they start arriving in regular rotation, we'll start discounting them:david.beholder wrote:They are going to appear before NAMM but sell out in minutes.

Modern analog synths don't have these issues - technology has advanced, you know?Numanoid wrote:OK, that is a good point.EvilDragon wrote:It does sound different. But being a proper analog synth, hope it wont have any tuning instability issues?

No, it's a proper analogue one thoughNumanoid wrote:But if it is modern, is it a proper analog synth
