In other, quite important, news: we are super glad to announce that OB-Xf now supports ASIO out of the box, since Steinberg changed the license for ASIO SDK so that it can be used in GPL3 projects as well!
Of course, this change is coming to Surge XT and a bit later Shortcircuit XT, too!

You could modify a vector theme if you wanted also. Its embedded in the binary so the synth always runs no matter how people mess with installers, but if you want the files you can start https://github.com/surge-synthesizer/OB ... ectorTheme and then just put all those files in a theme file of your making and edit away. But once we get to 1.0 we will have clearer instructions on tools and so forth to make your own skin.

great job on the synth, i'm a sucker for ob stuff and this thing sounds great. a question for anyone- does anybody have the schematics for or point me toward the factory patches on the hardware oberheim ob-x? there may be resources out there beyond google (and please don't tell me to bingit) that those in the know have and im def not in the know of much so any help be greatly appreciated.
i've searched for them a bit and come up empty, the patchbook for the ob-xa is around but thats not right, the ob-x8 has the factory patches for all the synths it incorporates, but i havent found a copy of the settings of the ob-x from that either (if they even exist in graphic/booklet/etc format).
again, wonderful job, surge team, on a fantastic sounding instrument and thanks.

The 32 factory presets is a separate bank that you have to download and import so i am not so sure if it is possible to do without owning OB-X since it is in your OB-X product page.k2006 wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 7:44 amtry trial version of Gforce ob-x,it may have factory sounds, you can adapt it to Obxd.coffee or coffee wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 12:23 am great job on the synth, i'm a sucker for ob stuff and this thing sounds great. a question for anyone- does anybody have the schematics for or point me toward the factory patches on the hardware oberheim ob-x? there may be resources out there beyond google (and please don't tell me to bingit) that those in the know have and im def not in the know of much so any help be greatly appreciated.

I can’t remember if I posted this already, but here are OB-Xa patches which are close to the OB-X

...except the filter is quite different between OB-X and OB-Xa, so be mindful of that (2-pole mode in OB-Xf is not going to sound the same as ladder-based 2-pole of OB-Xa). And envelope attack/decay/release knobs likely have wildly different scaling in OB-Xf, so matching the patch sheets might prove challenging in that regard.

saw these somewhere on the search, thanks, but the differences in filters and chip thing between the x and xa would put some in the ballpark? maybe but others not translating so well. plus the ob-x had only 32 factory patches. i like limitations. good thought and appreciate the ideaExamigan wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 5:05 pm I can’t remember if I posted this already, but here are OB-Xa patches which are close to the OB-X
