Sttjelle - As much as I enjoyed the treatment of the vox I fear that because of its clashing with some of the pads and other instruments it just doesn't come out the way I feel it should have or could have. The most beautiful piano breakdown that starts at 2 mins is so full and rich in tone that it just mesmerized me in my seat. I would have hope for a more consistent production where the feeling of that middle part would have stayed over the entire track. I'm affraid the muddy character of those other parts brought the track down a bit. Structure-wise somehow I feel more could have been gotten out of this song as I feel the progression a bit unlogical; atm it feels like a vocal track with a different track glued in the middle. Now I'm not trying to diss this track at all, but I feel with a bit more attention to the mix/balance especially in the vocal parts would have made this a killer track that has a very Enigmatic feel. Just my honest opinion on what my ears are picking up.

Beardedone - What can I say really. Your consistency is admirable and your sound production just is getting better by the month. Great tonal treatment and a joy to listen to

Sweetboy - A quite well executed trance track that production wise is done pretty good. There's plenty of energy coming from this track, but for me it lacks a bit in originality; the sequences used are a bit chewn to death and the sounds I feel are quite overused. Hats off though for getting a good song build in the limited time available.

Vitamin D - So cool hearing something from you in the contests and especialy this month
Indeed there's a great goa feel about this with quite a lot happening in the background. So what if your production skills are not so good yet; I realize that with you offering this for the contest you are sharing your love for music here and I for one applaud you entering this. Sure there's room for improvement on this track, but the intention you had when creating this is one that comes across and that is what counts here. And as I see it that was the whole intention of this months contest. I'd surely love to hear more from you in the café

Blue Days - It's pretty surprising to allready find so many trance tracks offered for this months contest. And this is a field in which you excell more and more each new track. The percussion sequence in here is quite a tasty one I must say and for once I am happy that this track doesn't burst in the usual hi-hat/snare mayhem. You put a lot of time into the very lovely sounding saw-leads which is quite well placed within the mix. My only objections to this track though is how the compression level leans too much on the bass sequence somehow creating what I think is more a sucking feel then a pushing feel, which I guess comes most noticable at 3.38 when the bass falls away and the track seems to be lifted too much.

Wow! Thanks Mystahr! I mixed this track with my hifi monitors and headphones. Now, just this last weekend I got a pair of new monitors (Event Precision 8s) which I have been spending time learning. Some of my old tracks need work but this one for some reason is relative speraking well balanced. These monitors are a revelation.Beardedone - What can I say really. I do have a big problem right now which is distracting from my enjoyment of the sound of these beauties. It is noise pollution. The noise of flowing water from the mains next to our house. They are making a huge roar from what I am convinced is a broken intake connected to the drain in my front yard. The sound resonates all through the pipes in house and is esp loud in the basement where I have my studio. I can even hear it clearly when I am trying to sleep upstairs. In order to listen properly especially at night I need to either shut off our water or reduce it to a trickle.

The inspector told me it will probably take a few months before it is evaluated, a work order allocated and then a crew scheduled. Then it will be another few months finally repair the broken main.
Or you could just do really "wet" mixes.

Good one George! You wanna to come over and help patch it up? Get all soaked. It will be a blast. It's a balmy -20 degrees C today.
These monitors are spectrally well balanced give full exposure even at low volumes. They can be cranked up very loud and still sound clear and tight..... I just have to sit upstairs is all toprotect my ears. As I do my comping at night this is out of the quetion besides I am a bit of an old lady about protecting my ears these days. I have some friends who are losing their hearing and that has scared me bigtime.

It's chilly here today, too. I doubt it'll get out of the '70's...Good one George! You wanna to come over and help patch it up? Get all soaked. It will be a blast. It's a balmy -20 degrees C today.
