is this iLoked now then?

Post

No It isn't but all AAX plugins have to be paced signed or something like that.

Definitely not. To release AAX plugins Pace and Avid force developers to use Pace's digital signing tools, which place a thin layer on top of existing operating system signing tools. The problem is Pace continually break things. I can't be bothered looking into what the issue is this time, I'll sort it out early in the new year, but I wasn't going to let that hold up the release.

I prefer iLok.

Haven't really used it yet on PC but it installed an authorised fine in Windows 10 Nuendo 7.

• New: SSE optimised over-sampler
• New: CPU meters
• New: cramped responses properly drawn in visualiser
• New: LFO1 phase control and advanced triggering

Andy, no problems so far on Windows 10. Mind if I make some suggestions?

1. The trimpot is bordering on hard to see at 100%, have you considered making it the same light gray as the big knobs? It might improve visibility.

2. The new filters are cool, but it's getting harder to keep track of what's what with the three-character names. Some are more obvious than others, for instance, I had to look up OSR to realize that was an Oscar. SHR I guessed was SH-Roland. AMU, KSM, SMP? No bells ringing. Maybe slightly less cryptic names, or longer descriptions in the menu, or even a tooltip could alleviate this. Would save me from checking the manual...

3. Just an FYI - the manual doesn't list the new filter types or new features yet. Assuming you now this and are waiting for the official release.

4. Speaking of manual, I appreciate that you probably don't want to create unnecessary clutter, but I'd personally appreciate it if the Manual went to C:\Program Files\Cytomic\The Drop and you placed a link for it somewhere in the UI or menu. I love when I can open a manual right from a plugin UI. Saves me from opening Explorer to hunt for it.

5. Also, it would be very convenient (and save a click) if you threw in an > type icon between A/B (so A>B) which when clicking, covered the "Copy A to B" functionality in the menu.

As I said, no problems so far and what a nice update! Can't wait to see what else Cytomic has coming in 2017. It's been too long since we've seen something new from you and I'm looking forward to throwing more money at you. :tu:

I checked out the new beta and I have a suggestion. Your work is amazing! I hope that helps. :)
SLH - Yes, I am a woman, deal with it.

this is great. thanks Andy!

Windows 10 x64. No problems at all with activating. Love the new features! I will try tomorrow in the studio...

Congratulations on this major step Andy! Looking forward to your next products!

In the new windows 64bit Beta, when in self oscillation the pitch is slightly lower when turning on HD mode.
Im not hearing any difference with the current release version 1.016.

Also is it possible to have some kind of smoothing interpolation on the knobs as when adjusting the frequency there is audible stepping as well as visual stepping eg 800hz to 827hz when mouse turning the knob its smallest increment.

Iv been using two Drops in series, one as an oscillator and the other as a filter along with Melda Wavefolder :)

Merry Xmas everyone!

Thanks for letting me know things are working great on Win 10. I love hearing from people on how to improve things, especially you, so your feedback is most welcome. Please feel free to argue any points I make, I am open to discussion.

1) I deliberately made the trimpot hard to see :) It's meant to be a set and forget type tying that doesn't clutter up the user interface, which is already pretty busy. Hopefully once you have tuned the maximum to where you want it you should concentrate only on the main resonance knob.

2) I also deliberately use generic names for the filters so you're not drawn to using a certain filter based on a certain synth it is inspired from. I would prefer each filter establish itself in your mind and you use associate for yourself which filter works best for which situation.

3) I've not updated the manual yet as it would have delayed the release, but I will update it soon :)

4) Good idea as an optional install component. In the future I want to build in more elaborate help to the plugin directly, and cover all the stuff that's in the manual via context sensitive popups.

5) How about if you hold the "alt" button down then it will switch to being a "copy A > B" or "copy B > A" instead of switching between the two?

Thanks for saving me the time doing this! There are a few more things I no doubt forgot to add to the release notes, but can't remember anything else just now apart from I also updated the MS1 filter algorithm significantly. It is way more "growly" with drive, and I'm getting my head around more and more of the difficult math involved in solving these types of circuits elegantly with low cpu.
