So I got a chance to play one of these today:

http://jrrshop.com/catalog/line-variax- ... -9407.html

The 3 tone. Nice guitar and the tuning was A BLAST, but even though it seemed to be set up about like I'd want it (really a shock for an off the shelf guitar at GC) it choked really easily on all frets when doing any real bending

Anyways, was fun. Probably a little too rich for my blood (even with the JRR discount) currently.

Latest bass...good deal on a used Sterling 4HH. Kind of figured I'd dig this, since the Ibanez ATK's are favorites. Liking it so far - just recorded a track using the neck pickup soloed, which gives a rather nice, throaty, "almost P-Bass" tone. Next thing I record I plan to try the pickup selector setting that uses just the inner coils and covers the sweet spot.

Nice MusicMan Bass !! I picked up a used Lakland 44-01 on ebay few years ago and am loving it . Got some Lakland/Hanson Dual-coils pickups and preamp on the way, in couple of weeks . I love it .

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Very nice, I would love to have a MM but can not afford. I almost got my claws on a Warick $$ 5-string for an insanely cheap deal but it fell through. MM's each one I have ever tried have been flawless, Lakland's also not come across a bad one of those either. Did have a Warick Thumb for a while but despite being really great sounding and playing, I got an offer that I had to take for it. I miss it even though they are not great lookers. MM have the looks to match and yeah I was gutted not to get that Warick $$ as it was/is as close as I have had to a 2xH MM  Maple board also...Lovely

Best to all as always :)

I was pondering a Warwick $$ before going with the Sterling, Dean. I'm still intrigued by the $$ design, with the twin MM pickups scrunched together over the sweet spot. It's amazing how low the used prices often are on those. They're kind of like Spectors - more upscale basses that, for some reason, seem to lose a great deal of value vs. the new price when people go to resell them.

If I'd had my choice of colors, I love the Pacific Blueburst on the MM's, but couldn't possibly justify paying $600 more for a new one just to get that color. And black will never clash with your outfit, LOL. 8)

I've only ever played it through a Pod HD 500 into a DT50. How does it sound going into a normal amp?

I liked allot of what I heard. REALLY big difference in volume when switching pups in the modeling mode...strange. Would love to get one here to really check. I think a couple of times I heard a bit of that "phasy" sound when using the tunings.

I literally had dreams about being able to use those tunings :scared:

I want a Johnny Marr Jaguar... that thing is really cool. Nice config. etc. Haven't even seen one available yet. Of course, I need another guitar like a hole in my head, but I want it. :help:

Traded the Washburn Dime 333 ML-style DimeBolt (Horrid body shape, Horrid Headstock, 24.37" scale, Bland humbuckers, The only things I liked about it were the finish and floyd) in for (surprise...)another old/pre-FMIC Jackson. Total no-brainer as it is another perfect one for Me/My style/Preference and Yep it has one of THOSE necks  HSS, Non-Reverse headstock, Floyd double-locking trem, A dark blue glossy kind of finish on the body, It looks like it has never been played. Really Am happy to of came across it by chance.

Now all it needs is one of Uncle Seymour's Blackout EMTY model active humbuckers for pugging in the bridge position, The middle or maybe even both single-coils deacivated and fliiped upside down to cover in the holes & then simply tuning down really low with a set of heavy bastard strings gauge wise (.64 - .18) to make it spot on :)

On a seperate note/issue my laptop is giving Me the now familar Blue Sreen Of Death, So I am using one of the kid's netbooks which I can barely type with as my hands/fingers are just far too big for it. Bloody thing/sick of the headaches it is giving me

Hope You guys are all well and speak soon :D
