Also the HD and MD (when HD is off) modes will sound slightly different and have slightly different self oscillation pitches. This is due to the HD solver taking more CPU and coming up with a better solution to the non-linear implicit filter equations which are difficult to solve.VariKusBrainZ wrote:In the new windows 64bit Beta, when in self oscillation the pitch is slightly lower when turning on HD mode....

Thanks for the report!sqigls wrote:ok installed and activated with no problems on OSX 10.9.5...
tweaked for half hour or so in Live 9.6 with no problems.
Will test in Cubase as soon as i get home.
The new filters are great, cant wait to get familiar with them.
LOVE the way the Wasp disintegrates when driven, can't wait to abuse it
I think the WSP filter is the stand out model out of the new ones, it offers a very unique sound with lots of distortion. I built the circuit on a breadboard and did a model of it and got the behaviour spot on to get the wonderful "warbling" sound with resonance just below self oscillation. Here is a video demonstrating it on the Doepfer A-124

This is an option that if the HD button is off then it it will be switched on for you automatically while you do an offline bounce / freeze / render.mustgroove wrote:Love the new update! Quick question - what is the new "HD Render" option?

Is it just me or did you touch the entire way The Drop distorts the sound? Feels much much more safe due to not running into the red as easily with all filter models.
It has been my fave saturation effect for a while, but now there's something I can't put my finger on right that kicks it over the top.
Or it's just in my head...

Can this be installed alongside the previous version?andy-cytomic wrote:Thanks for saving me the time doing this! There are a few more things I no doubt forgot to add to the release notes, but can't remember anything else just now apart from I also updated the MS1 filter algorithm significantly. It is way more "growly" with drive, and I'm getting my head around more and more of the difficult math involved in solving these types of circuits elegantly with low cpu.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:From the release notes doc...aMUSEd wrote:What's new?
• New: filter models KSM, WSP, AMU
• New: resonance boost “trimpot” to increase self oscillation range from 125% to 200% (the 0%-100% operation stays constant)
• New: MD and HD modes for all filters
• New: SSE optimised over-sampler
• New: CPU meters
• New: cramped responses properly drawn in visualiser
• New: LFO1 phase control and advanced triggering
• New: improved beat triggering of LFOs
• New: wide button to increase the range of the shift and spread knobs
• New: improved machine id generation on Win and Mac
• Note: Win XP support has ended with this build
Going by what I've read here it seems as thought the sound has changed and therefore previous projects will sound different with it...

It would be a major issue for me to open old projects and find the sound has changed.

If you are on windows just save the old .dll file and the new one in another folder an make sure you know which one is which. Then when you are about to work on old projects you copy and replace .dll in the vst folder with the old version and vice versa, on new projects you replace it with the new.shroom81 wrote:It replaces the previous version.Frantz wrote:+1RobGee wrote: Can this be installed alongside the previous version?

Should work, I could launch the old version after I had run and authorized the new one... just make sure you have backup copies of the .dll files at all time.

Kr3eM: Thanks for suggesting this workaround.Kr3eM wrote: If you are on windows just save the old .dll file and the new one in another folder an make sure you know which one is which. Andy: I still think it would be better to have a new name for the new version of the DLL if the sound is not identical. Both DLLs would be available and we could decide to either upgrade old projects to the new DLL or stay on the original version.

I would prefer this option if the sound is different from the previous version.Frantz wrote:Kr3eM: Thanks for suggesting this workaround.Kr3eM wrote: If you are on windows just save the old .dll file and the new one in another folder an make sure you know which one is which. Has anyone tried to open an old project to see if it actually sounds different? You guys might be trying to solve for a problem that you're not actually impacted by. I've already got one "The Drop Legacy.dll" in my plugin folder, I don't want two.

You could just rename the new one to TheDrop 1.5 or whatever you would prefer...Frantz wrote: Andy: I still think it would be better to have a new name for the new version of the DLL if the sound is not identical. Depending on what you are doing it can apparently sound different.
... That should probably be an answer to the question I reckon.andy-cytomic wrote:...updated the MS1 filter algorithm significantly. It is way more "growly" with drive...

That sounds like a bug! Thanks for the info, I'll look into it now.meloco_go wrote:Is it bug or is it planned thing that ENV does not respond to audio in Trig mode? In Gate mode it works as it used to, but in Trig I can no longer make it to react.
I used to make an expander with fixed envelope out of it and I can't now.

Yes, I can confirm the bug and have fixed it. Doing a new release now...andy-cytomic wrote:That sounds like a bug!
