Really sorry if this has been asked before, but I have only just got back here & don't have time to wade through 200+ pages.

1) I already have Sampletank XL so presumably there is no point in downloading the XT version that comes with the GB?

2) I have downloaded 7 of the 8 from IK to my Mac G5, but when I try to run the Mac Installer I get an error message the the package will not work. Help! What have I done wrong?

The XT engine is the same as 2.5.4 so I'd just continue to update what you have.

For number 2, please log a ticket with support. There shouldn't be an issue. While you are doing so, I'd recommend redownloading with a download manager like DownThemAll for Firefox.

I'm sure I read many times in these hundreds of pages - that I can join twice snd therefor get 16 for 2.

So I just joined a second time (first time was several weeks ago ,direct thru IK; second time just now thru esoundz. So how does it work?

I registered and see my 7 bonus sounds available....

BUT what happened to the remainder on the first time???
I only downloaded 5 so far ?!?!?!?!?!

Don't panic. Click on each of the 7 bonus slots. For two of them, you'll be taken to a page with two different drop-downs, so you can download all the tanks you've paid for.

In addition to what Peter said, I'll mention that the installer for the Tanks really is superfluous. Just unzip the instrument content into your SampleTank folder, and then hit "Relist" the next time you run SampleTank. All the installer does is copy the files for you in a semi-automated fashion (and if I remember correctly it doesn't always get the right location anyway!).

Hmmm I haven't seen reports of it not installing to what you have ST set to in the prefs. I can check with support but it should work very well and get the instruments to wherever you set that setting. I love that feature. Set it once, run the installer, relist and voila!

I suppose I should qualify that I've never bothered to run the installer myself. A friend of mine who purchased had the sounds get installed into a folder that SampleTank wasn't looking at, but I'm not sure exactly what he did - it's possible he moved some things between installing SampleTank XT and installing the Tank. I thought I had heard a similar story once somewhere in the past 200 pages or so. I'm sure it works fine for most folks, I just have found it quicker to tell 7zip to dump the instrument files straight into my SampleTank folder and cut out the middleman, as it were.

If it's any help, I have a G5 OS 10.5.6, Pro Tools 8LE, and I had the same problem. I got a message about the architecture not supporting that function. Turned out you don't need the installer though...just open the folder, put the sound files wherever you like to keep your other ST instruments, and open ST, click relist, and they should show up. Try that!

YES ! - you were right!
The ones at the end were doubled up

I assume now that they are registered I have past june 6 to make my selections and download, correct? (even with 16 choices some must be left behind)

I believe you have 30 days from the day you register to choose your Multibox and Promotion downloads. I'm not totally sure about that, though, so I'd say don't dawdle. You should certainly have until at least June 14th, as that's the secret last day to register and qualify for the 8x1 promotion.

After you've actually chosen them, you have 30 days to download them; there's a clear counter on the Sounds Download page for each thing, so you can't lose track of that at least. After 30 days, you'll need to pay a (pretty hefty) re-download fee if you want to download them again, so make backups!

Hmmmm. I bought when it was at 3x1 and then bought again this week at 8x1. I had three downloaded so this even I start to download the rest. It looks like I am going to be allowed 15 instead of 16. I only got 1 slot added in the top "Group Buy Promotion" slot instead of 2.

Anyone else experience this?

That makes sense. You should have 1 option available in the 2x1 and 3x1 Promotion slots, and 2 options available in 4x1, 5x1, 6x1, 7x1, and 8x1. You should also have another option available under Multibox for your second registration. That, plus the three you've already downloaded, adds up to 16!

Can someone clarify- do we get 2 bonuses from Esoundz- or just 1. I thought I read that Squids was working on some extra patches- so I keep looking in my account to see if they pop up. I already got the World RAW pack (great great great pack for use with Logic let me tell you!). I played forever with just the PowWow drum loops synced with some Trilian ARP patches- what a freakin' blast!!!!

Yeah, I can't wait, I've been dreaming about the new bonus since April! A nice cherry on top too.

But as things wind down, I just wanted to take a minute to say a HUGE thanks to Squids, Peter, Allen and KVRers torgo, Zedd, Reverend Rhythm, BBQT and Stephan326 for sharing so much of their knowledge, and doing so much legwork reposting faqs, demos and resolving technical/content issues.

I can't remember a more involving, exciting, better spent $95, since... well, we'll leave that be.

Fortunately, there are 2 Group Buys right around the corner. I think eSoundz will be starting a GB next week, in addition to the IK one... but perhaps they have both been talking about the same GB. We'll see.
