Max, it does seem like cheerleading to me. I fully understand why Kriminal made his comment.

So do you get a free or heavily discounted version for being a tester?
Or are you still over compensating with refx love after the koblo affair?
:hihi:

Off topic and obsolete. I reply only to questions related to ElectraX. If you are not interested in it don't hijack the thread. I'm only replying as a KVR member to those interested just like I do for other topics. Don't be stupid.

Hardly the "worst ever"
second worst if you read the post correctly..IMO...it looks like they took a really bad GUi, and solarised it to make it worse

The idea of whether your pro active role in this thread is down to perceived vested intertests has already been made. It is hardly obselete and off topic to ask you to clarify your position, integrity and impartiality being of critical importance, afterall.

Of course you can choose not to disclose how close you are to this product or the company, but like I wrote before, it does look a bit like a conflict of interest, and percieved or otherwise, it's not a good look.

Waiting for the demo and cutting through the hype and spin is always the best move. It's what I'll do.

What questions you answer and how you participate in this thread is your business alone.

However you asked us all to stop discussing Electrax' gui*, which - to be frank - is not really your business. Perhaps that's what PL meant when he wrote 'cheerleading'. ;-)

*and I find it a bit bizarre tbh, that you are not even allowed to post audio-examples yet, however the GUI already seems to be a settled thing.

You guys must be drunk, really :hihi:

@Purity Lied: my role? I've been a beta tester / sound designer for ElectraX and I was giving informations about it until a demo will be available and that's all. Do you want to know also if I'm into freemasonry? :hihi:

@jens: as a forum member I can suggest to focus the attention on what I consider the most important aspects instead of keep on saying "I like patatoes", "I don't like apples" (I think).

Jesus, really... It's almost impossible to run or partecipate to a thread here :hihi:

The bad thing is that also those really interested in a topic have to pay the consequences of the few trolls.

End of thread here for me. My suggestion for those interested is to follow the discussions on the official Tone2 forum.

Cheers,
Max

Ok, beta tester and sound designer, are you getting a good deal on Electrax?

Freemasons I don't care about, but advertising by stealth, having beta testers and sound designers 'running' threads (in the absence of the op), boosting the hype, I sort of do.
I can see through this type of spin, and I think it a little odious.

Since you have used plural, I'll just pop back into the thread to clarify this, from my own perspective, since I did post a lot in this thread. All my posts about ElectraX, about its features and workflow, came from my own genuine enthusiasm about the synth. I do realise that I posted too much, and I would have certainly preferred not to get caught in arguments, but all my posts stem from my own free will, not fueled by any thing I may or may not get in return. I don't think there has been any advertising, and especially none by stealth. Those who have already worked with ElectarX and posted here, have disclosed that fact. And since we all love synths on this board, don't we, it would be impossible not to become enthusiastic (for some of us). There's been a lot of information sharing mixed with enthusiasm. That's all.

I'm more like my 21 month son lately, he gets to play with a new toy and goes totally bonkers doing so, and so do I! I'd say, that I'm more bonkers, but my son doesn't know that yet. :D :hihi: :D

And for what it is worth, I said it before, I love the GUI personally, and especial the one at their site. All I know for sure, I think FireBird is brilliant, and look forward to demoing this synth. And hope for a Holiday introductory price, just saying that would be cool.

Post

What the heck difference does it make if they got the synth for free or not? It's not like they get $20 for each one sold or something. I got Gladiator and Firebird for free for beta testing and preset design. You should get paid something for doing all that, it's a lot of time involved. From here on out it doesn't get me a damn thing if I talk positive about them both but I still do because they are good synths. It's not like I get anything if they sell something because of what I said.

It's a nice gui. But slanted knobs are silly. It's AQ said, nobody has ever complained about non-perspective knobs before. IT would be the safest way to go. But then again, developers do have their own preferences, they don't necessarily have to please everyone.

On the subject of the GUI there is an alternative...............

I'd change the red at the top if possible but this is the skin I would use if I owned the synth.

Unfortunately you can not join their forum and post unless you already own a Tone 2 product so that leaves some people out.

I don't think there are any evil intentions here........just a couple of guys who seem to really like this synth and were lucky enough to get on the Beta team. I can see why Tone 2 would want to stay out of the mix though................

you know kvr really is something else.
the beta testers/sound developers could have kept their mouth shut and not give any information and let us all wait till the thing is released.....
